Photographer’s Note

After a winter picture - a summer teaser, although this one was shot in September, a day after astronomical summer was officially over. But in a place as Begur at Costa Brava, Catalonia, one can prolong the summer for a little, as we did.

The shot was made at Fornells, a small bay lying between Sa Tuna and Tamariu and close to Aigua Blava bay. It was formerly mainly a fishing village and, whilst there is still some fishing activity, Fornells is now primarily known as the location of the well known Aigua Blava Hotel. There is a marina and two tiny beaches as well as the larger “Platja Fonda” nearby.

Superbe villa au pied de laquelle bateaux, planches à voiles viennent se faire caresser par un doux soleil.
La beauté est patente à travers cette composition.

Hello Alexander,
The little boats make an interesting and colourful lead line. The curved shapes also make a a very good contrast with the austere straight lines of the background house. Very good light and colours; excellent sharpness.

This brightens up my day as all is so grey outside. The sharpness is excellentand I like the balance and the attractiveness of the colourful boats and house. The reference number is really striking too.

Hi Alexander.
Great colours and an eye-catching composition in which the layers of the boats and storeys of the house pile up on each other. Sharp as a tack and the great deal of white in the picture is well exposed. It looks a delightful spot, and must have been not too crowded at that time.
