Photographer’s Note

The landscape at the Southern tip of the island of La Palma - Punta Fuencaliente - has been thoroughly transformed by the eruption of Volcan Teneguia in 1971, covering large parts of land with fresh lava.
The original lighthouse was spared from the lava flows. However its structural integrity was doubted and a new lighthouse was erected next to it. The old lighthouse still serves as an interpretation centre providing information about ocean life.

Salt ponds have been embedded in the dark lava, providing strong contrasting views.

Nice pan-focus landscape shot (f/8 and 17mm gets good results). Proportion of land, sea and sky is also very reasonable.

un excdllent POV ici, l'avant plan participe à la construction de la profondeur de l'image qui n'en manque pas.
Des couleurs naturelles sous des lumières pas trop fortes.

this is a very strange landscape with an incredible ground of grey stones and lava!The light house is the only touch of colour with the blue sky,and that gives the impression of a place where life is impossible!Each element are very well placed with a good light!Very well done!

Very interesting shot with the slat pond within the lava. The lighthouse in the back brings a touch of bright color. The compsotion is very well balanced.

The island contains a lot of contrast.
this red lighthouse, give warm to this place very chaud.La color contrasts with the sandy salt evaporation.

Wanneer men iets langer kijkt naar de foto ziet men veel meer.
Inderdaad de lava als zwarte ondergrond, daar boven op de zout pan, dit geeft mooi en zacht contrast.
The rood witte vuurtoren is wel de aantrekkingspool op deze foto.
Zeer mooi samengesteld. Bedankt.

Very good use of the salt foreground to increase the colors contrast with the red lighthouse lost in this lava landscape.

Something totally new for me! For one I was not even aware of a volcano in Spain. The POV is excellent from the corner of the lava enveloped salt pan leading us to the lighthouse in the distance. Good work & a good note as well!
