Photographer’s Note

The Basilica is one of Valencia's most emblematic buildings of the city. It is next to the Cathedral. It is a basilica, from the outer square, oval inside it. It houses a statue of the Virgin, patron saint of the city, which according to tradition was carved in a single night by unknown authors. Known affectionately as geperudeta, namely the Valencian language in humpback, because it is slightly tilted forward. At the top, a beautiful dome painted in fresco, by Antonio Palomino, representing the Holy Trinity on clouds.
