Photographer’s Note
La Palma is called "the green island" as it catches more rain than the other Canary Islands due to its Western position. La Palma is also considered to be one of the steepest islands of the world, and the combination with a relatively humid climate has led to terrace building for agriculture, often accomodating banana plantations.
A view from the Mirador de San Bartolomé, at the Eastern side of the island, North of the capital Santa Cruz.

Bonjour Paul ,

How interesting to see these carefully tended terraces. Such efficient use of land. I'm surprised not to see trees on this island. You've captured life here. Thanks. Judy

Hi Paul
Well composed, using the rule of thirds, with the horizon line nicely placed on the 2/3 mark above the centre where the slope terminates at left. Good sharpness & colour. Tfs!

Just as I remember Canarian Islands - color of the ocean is superb, and unmistakable. Very good photo, no any prominent features here, but it don't need them!
Amazing work!

Hallo Paul,
Groetjes,

Hi Paul,
Love the lovely lines and textures of these terraced green fields.
Very good light to the gently slopping hills that contrast so brilliantly with the vivid blue sea.

Bonjour Paul,
Yves.

Beautiful greenness! I like the contrast between the green steep mountainside and the blue sea. In my opinion it is difficult to show so many details on the land without overexposition on the sea. I think you had the sun behind you and that helps.
Interesting note too. I did not know some thing about La Palma and I must admit that I have never been on the Canary Islands. This is something I must correct.

Hi Paul ,
La Palma is like a hidden paradise in Spain , not as famous as others (Tenerife , Lanzarote , Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria). This one belongs to the group of lushy islands with their vast vegetations and terraces , steep cliffs and cultivation areas . The contrast between the green and the blue horizon of the ocean gives a nice visual sensation that makes the picture enjoyable
Best wishes ,
Miguel
