Photographer's Note
Despite its name (Devil's Bridge), it is actually a stretch of the aqueduct made by the Romans to supply water to the Roman city of Tarraco (Tarragona nowadays). It's believed that it was built in the time of emperor Augustus, who ruled from 27 BC to 14 AD. The whole aqueduct ran for 15 Km (little less than 10 mi). This 'bridge' is 217 meters (712 ft) long and has a maximum height of 27 meters (88 ft). It is also known as Aqüeducte de les Ferreres, the Catalá (language of Catalonia) for "Aqueduct of the Blacksmiths".
Tarragona was the first major Roman city in Iberia and I guess it was also the most important during all the Roman rule. It was founded in the 3rd century BC near an existing and already important Iberian settlement, and it was the capital of the first and largest of the 3 Roman provinces of Iberia, first known as Hispania Citerior and then Hispania Tarraconensis.

It is very like the one in Segovia; hardly surprising I suppose as they are both Roman. Was this one easier to frame as it hasn't got distracting buildings around it? I love anything with strong perspective (make that horizontal perspective ;D) and this is no exception. It really sucks the viewer into the frame. Well done

Jose, this is great, I love the history surrounding you, here we have nothing like this and what history we do have we destroy. Detail in the shot and color are fantastic. Great capture.

I thought this is day version of your earlier fantastic photo Roman Aqueduct of Segovia but then learnt that they are not same. Their styles are so similar except colors of stones and also different source of lights.
Here the reddish and mossy textures of historical facades are amazing in the middle of green valley. I liked also your skilfully build point of view for an excellently balanced frame. Wonderful.

Bonjour Jose,

Hello Jose -
This scene brings back memories of our visit to Pont du Gard in Provence, France. I do like the perspective of this scene as the aqueduct leads us right into the scene and provides excellent depth. Well see and accomplished.
Thank you for sharing.

Amicalement.

Hello Jose,
I'm always impressed when seeing those ancient pieces of engineering!
Obviously they did something right since they are still standing after all these years...
Effective point of view and a fine dynamic composition!
