Palau Nacional Photo

Photographer’s Note

Using the full 300 mm of my 75-300 mm lens, I pictured the Palau Nacional building. It houses the National Art Museum of Catalonia. It is located on the Montjuic hill, some 3,1 km from where I was standing, according to www.map24.de. In the map feature I pinpoint the position where I was when I shot the picture.
To the left hand side, below the Palau, there is a construction much closer to me than the Palau. I think it is distracting to the picture, but I have still left it there --not cloning it out, to keep the picture as original as I shot it.
Those days in Barcelona where wet, so a break in the clouds was very welcomed.
I increased a little bit the colour saturation and also the contrast, just to resemble it a little bit darker. I also applied USM after resizing.
To the right hand side a lot of sea gulls can be seen.

Hello Jurgen,

At first I had to get used to the right part, being quite empty. But after a moment, I did see why you included it, with the light in the background and the pigeons. It gives us a little piece to rest the eye, a little counter balance for the heavy silouette. Nice one.

vaya otra fotografía de mi ciudad... me gusta el contraste del edificio con el fondo, quizá un poquillo demasiado negra la parte superior, pero me sigue gustando igual!

It's a really nice picture, I love the colours of the sunset,
