Torla es un municipio y localidad del norte de la provincia de Huesca (España), fronterizo con Francia aunque sin conexión por carretera con ella, y es puerta de acceso al valle de Ordesa perteneciente al Parque nacional de Ordesa y Monte Perdido, así como al Valle de Broto. Está situado al noroeste de la comarca del Sobrarbe, a 100 km de Huesca capital.

Torla esta situada a 1032 m. de altitud y tiene 233 habitantes.

Torla se encuentra en el valle glaciar del río Ara, después de la confluencia de los valles de Bujaruelo (donde nace el río Ara) y el Ordesa (río Arazas), suponiéndose que la lengua glaciar llegaba hasta Asín de Broto, con más de 30 km en total. El río Ara pasa por ser el único río de cierta importancia de España que no está represado por la mano humana en todo el curso de 70 km hasta su confluencia con el río Cinca en Aínsa.

Su nombre se atribuye a una derivación de "Torre", en referencia a la torre defensiva que existió para defensa del valle frente a las incursiones desde territorio francés desde la época de Juan II de Aragón (siglo XV). Esta fortaleza se supone construida donde hoy se encuentra la hermosa Iglesia románica, sobre una gran roca que domina el valle.

Enmarcada por las enormes alturas que la rodean la villa de Torla se ha desarrollado conservando una rica historia y un singular patrimonio. Su casco antiguo, de raíces medievales, y que ha llegado hasta nuestros días en un magnífico estado de conservación, guarda joyas de la arquitectura tradicional altoaragonesa.

Torla is a municipality and village in the northern province of Huesca (Spain), on the border with France but without road connection with it, and it's gateway to the valley Ordesa belonging to the National Park Ordesa and Monte Perdido, as well as the Valle de Broto. It is located northwest of the county's Sobrarbe, 100 km from Huesca capital.

Torla is situated at 1032 m. altitude and has 233 inhabitants.

Torla is in the glacial valley of the River Ara, after the confluence of the valleys Bujaruelo (where the river is born Ara) and Ordesa (river Araz), assuming that the glacier tongue came up Asin of Broto, with more than 30 km in total. The Ara river passes as the only river of some importance in Spain that is not represented by the human hand throughout the course of 70 km to its confluence with the river Cinca in Aínsa.

Its name is attributed to a derivation of "Tower", in reference to the defensive tower, which existed for defense of the valley in front of the raids from French territory since the days of John II of Aragon (XV century). This fortress built where it is assumed today is the beautiful Romanesque church, on a large rock overlooking the valley.

Framed by the enormous heights that surround the town of Torla has developed a rich history and preserving a unique heritage. Its old town of medieval roots, and that has come to our days in a wonderful state of preservation, jewelry stores of traditional architecture altoaragonesa.

una foto panoramica molto ben eseguita grazie anche alla ricchezza di elementi di cui essa è composta.

A very serene and peaceful scene with the village nestled in the valley. Good DOF but I think I would have eliminated the bush on the left if that was possible.

This valley appears to be well guarded, not only with the past tower, but with the high peaks that surround its position within the sanctity of the valley. A quant scene that is warm by nature...

Hello,

Le couleurs sont mangigique, superbe vue, beuacoup de doucuer avec ces buissons brun claire, le vert des pâturages avec lee animaux, le fond fait comme un V avec ce ciel nuageux qui fait comme des vaguelettes, superbe.

tre foto in una...la campagna con gli animali, il villaggio sullo sfondo e la montagna sotto un cielo nuvoloso.
Buona la luce ,manca forse un po di definizione sulla parte sinistra ,ma resta una bellissima composizione.

You benefited from a good light for this very appealing landscape composition. I like the presence of the animals in the foreground from which the eyes move naturally across the fields towards the white houses of the village. I like how the village lies in the gently sloping valley under that very interesting sky. Pleasing soft colours and good clarity.

Hola amiga Charo,
parece que tuvísteis suerte con el tiempo, a pesar del cielo cargado y que amenazaba nevada.
Se puede sentir el ambiente frío en la foto, en un encuadre bien buscado donde podemos disfrutar del paisaje del valle, del pueblo e incluso de las vacas con sus terneros paciendo en los prados.
Todo es perfecto, bucólico y muy bonito.
Las dos fotos complementarias completan un buen trabajo fotográfico, y la nota nos da una información muy bien detallada sobre el lugar.
Vamos a seguir aguantando el ritmo gastronómico-festivo, ahora con el final del año.
Os deseamos un muy feliz Año Nuevo a toda la familia, esperando que sea mucho mejor que el que se acaba.

Ce village près de la France est intéressant à découvrir. L'image hivernale décrit bien ce village ancien et sa situation dans un environnement bucolique. Un bon document comme les ws, dont j'aime bien le #2.

Hey Charo,

A really stunning piece. The scenery is absolutely gorgeous. The cloud definition is especially notable. The village in the background looks like it`s been grown there, not built - it fits in well. Cows and other animals provide a living feeling to it. In a nutshell: a full photo, which also leaves just the right amount of breathing space.

Muy lindo paisaje con muy buenos colores y definicion, has logrado una excelente foto con muy buena iluminacion a pesar del día nublado, la presencia del ganado en el campo y la preciosa villa al fondo crean una excelente composición. Buen POV. Tus dos WS nos permiten ampliar el conocimiento de tan bello lugar.

Hello Charo,
I like the pictures in the WS as much as this one. Pure mountain atmosphere with a sympathetic collection of animals in the foreground. No too much light due to the clouds but just enough to get real colours and a good impression of the valley.

Bonita vista invernal de Torla desde la carretera que lleva a Ordesa, el cielo plomizo parece desplomarse sobre la población..
Casualmente publiqué una foto del mismo título, tomada desde el mismo lugar!!
