Fire festival.... Photo

Photographer’s Note

After a great pictures shotted (obviously I couldn't use the tripod...), I took this photo in the local festival of my beloved town Macastre.

The festivity lasts for (aprox) 8 days and includes religious acts, game for childs and more things. Also we have a strange tradition and we throw people (two kids and two elders) from the tower of the church. Sometimes they have important hurts. Today I show a piece of the festival with the fire show.
Nine boys were hurts by the fire.

hola oscar,
this is really an interesting take, not an easy job to take such a photo with a handheld camera;
the part on the right hand side is seemingly more "stable" while the kids in the far end of the scene (obviously) are much more shaken,
also - the lighting effect is quite interesting,
summarizing - i like it,

Más que un festival parece un trabajo de soldadores. ¿Qué son, bengalas? Sea lo que sea, el contraste es muy vivo e impactante y resulta normal, e incluso bueno en esta foto, el movimiento de los personajes que giran alrededor del fuego. Oscar me gusta mucho esta foto por las figuras casi dostorcionadas y el humo que crea un atmosfera mas interesante. Bonita tradicion espanola y parece que los ninos gustan mucho de ella pues veo varios en la foto. Bonito trabajo.

Si lo sé no te digo que cuelgues esta foto. Lo digo porque me gusta y no quiero darte ánimos con eso que quieres llamar pueblo.
Ah, que no he dicho hola... hola inferior.

Me gustaría ser el primero con la crítica pero no me quedan puntos y es inevitable que deje de serlo porque la foto no pasará inadvertida.

la imagen movida la da a la foto un gran dinamismo y aspecto casi de pintura impresionista. Me encanta el efecto conseguido. Respecto a la fiesta... un poco bestia, no? ;) Pero la tradición es la tradición!!

En serio lanzais gente desde la torre de la iglesia!!!!!
Valencia, tierra pirotecnica por antomasia, en tu foto captas la esencia de ese elemento tan utilizado e indespensable en las fiestas de cualquier rincon de Levante.
A pesar de no haber usado tripode, el resultado es bueno ;-)

Estare por aqui el Lunes, que me marcho a Estocolmo, esta vez a pasar frio por encima de todo ;-P, cuidate Oscar

és increïble la passió pel foc que teniu els valencians. I l'has captada en una sola foto, molt ben feta malgrat la manca de trípode i la llum especial i difícil.
És molt dinàmica, es veu el moviment dels focs i de la gent, i les llums, les espurnes i el fum creen una imatge molt interessant.

I like the colour tones here as I think they enhance the atmosphere you want to convey!

Aunque no hayas usado un tripode creo que el ligero movimiento de la foto le da una cierta atmosfera. ay pasante que parecen fantasmas y la exposicin esta muy buena

Menos val que te dignas a mostrar tu pueblo. Por esto ya se merecen los dos puntos. Realmente un momento ideal para capturar, esto me recuerda a la batallas de petardos y cohetes de Casteldefels.
Me gusta aunque no tu pueblo no tiene nada que ver con Valdeavellano donde vamos a parar.
PD: Mira que hay que ser sádico, lanzar a gente desde la iglesia... cuando te toque a ti avisa que eso no me pierdo.

Parece el Akelarre de Goya wuaohh impresionante ! Si , las fiestas son un poco heavis por alli (o literalmente aqui al lado ) no sabia lo de tirar a gente y con esos avisos haces una publicidad de pm para que asistamos ...Desenfocada o como quieras llamarlo pero el efecto es muy muy bueno , mas que dramatico , casi tragico (jjj) , bueno mas leyendo esa nota (habria que tirar desde el motroton a mas de un padre de esas inocentes criaturas heridas )

Interesting and creative work. I love the effect of the blur and the streaks of light. There is also noticeable variation in the blur across the scene. Very well captured. Good work.

Me gusta mucho esta foto que refleja la alegria de los niños jugando con los fuegos artificiales, una pena que siempre sale alguien con quemaduras en su cuerpo.
Esta muy bien captada y me alegro que no usaras tripode ya que la falta de foco generalizada hace un excelente efecto.

Great work Oscar,

Ive been to steel mills, and its a crazy place. ive been to paper mills too, also crazy, but steel mills are hell, chaotic, hot, hot, hot, awfl places, I would not want to work at one. The reason Im saying this is that this place eminds me a bit of a steel mill, the fire, the confusion, the hellish feel. Very strong work, very moody too.
