Photographer's Note

Zeanuri is located in the historical territory of Bizkaia, on the foothill of Gorbeia mountains, formed by many scattered neighborhoods of rural nature in the region of the valley of Arratia.
Zeanuri presents different beautiful buildings spread over a marvelous natural landscape. Its main attraction undoubtedly is the Gorbeia Natural Park, which occupies part of these lands, apart from the valuable character of the historical legacy the village keeps.
Zeanuri is one of the towns in Bizkaia with most country houses in its urban centre.
These buildings, representative of the Basque popular architecture, are just one sample of the wide historic-architectural heritage in town.

I like to mention the church of Andrea Mari, which dates back to the end of the 18th century, with three naves, five altars, a choir and a tower. The parish church of Santiago de Ipiñaburu built in 1551 and the numerous hermitages in many neighborhoods complete the religious heritage.

Likewise,is good to mention the tower Akauri, the palace Axpe, and even the Town Hall. Other interesting elements are formed by the restored mill Olabarri, where the ancient trade of millers is shown. The limestone quarry of San Justo, located in the neighborhood of Otzerimendi, is very close to the hermitage of San Justo, in the middle of an oak grove and a very interesting attraction to visit.
All these buildings combine perfectly with the natural treasures hidden in Zeanuri. In fact, the town is within the Gorbeia Natural Park, an exceptional natural space that stands out due to the richness of its landscape and fauna. The deer is the emblematic species in the park and the Gorbeia summit is the reference point for Basque mountaineers.

Zeanuri is the starting point for different mountain routes. It has beautiful places such as the Saltropo damp area, where there is an interpretation centre and a very well equipped recreational area.

it is a pleasure to follow you in your Spanish tour. Although there was not particularly nice light you managed to take very beautiful photo wit excellent colors. I like how the road leads the eye. Very nice perspective and composition.

The buildings here are nicely scattered in the landscape here, providing nice colours against the green slope behind. I recognize the building style as we have been to this area, but on the French side of the border. A very interesting note!

Je devine que le ciel était nuageux, cela donne de belles couleurs su fait que le ciel n'était pas visible.

άλλη μια γραφική περιοχή της Χώρας των Βάσκων με την περιοχή να φαίνεται ότι δέχεται αρκετό χιόνι τους Χειμερινούς μήνες κρίνοντας κάποιος από τα σπίτια που μοιάζουν με σαλέ και φυσικά από τις κεκλιμένες τους σκεπές.

This is a simple rural scene, observed first hand filled with interesting traditional houses in the natural green surroudings which seems to dominate. There is enough depth, well detailed and great dof to ensure focus is on the main subjects. Indeed a lovely part of the village wonderfully blended with some great backdrops, the colors have added so much to lift this shot and contrast stunningly. A fine and interesting brief shot and explanation, however honestly I missed the human interaction there. Great effort. Cheers

This is amazing: when I look on the right side over picture space, it looks like germany or Switzerland, while looking to the left, I see a whole diff. architecture.
Marvelous taking this two styled houses together, and great view towards the forest uphills. Fine green.
