The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao is a museum of modern and contemporary art, designed by Canadian-American architect Frank Gehry, built byFerrovial, and located in Bilbao (Abando), Basque Country, Spain.
Established on October 18, 1997.
It is built alongside the Nervion River, which runs through the city of Bilbao to the Atlantic Coast.. The museum features permanent and visiting exhibits of works by Spanish and international artists.
One of the most admired works of contemporary architecture, the building has been hailed as a "signal moment in the architectural culture", because it represents "one of those rare moments when critics, academics, and the general public were all completely united about something. The museum was the building most frequently named as one of the most important works completed since 1980 in the 2010 World Architecture Survey among architecture experts.

Πρώτα θα σε ευχαριστήσω για τα καλά σου λόγια, με ευχαριστεί το γεγονός ότι με τις φωτογραφίες μου σε ταξιδεύω στην πατρίδα.
Πολύ εντυπωσιακό γλυπτό μας παρουσιάζεις εδώ, από το πολύ ενδιαφέρον μουσείο μοντέρνας τέχνης του Μπιλμπάο.
Χαιρετίσματα από την Ελλάδα που αύριο γιορτάζει, ελπίζοντας η γιορτή αυτή να συνεχιστεί επ' αόριστον!

Hello Eleni.
A very good and interesting composition, setting several shapes and patterns against each other in close juxtaposition. I like the reflection in the balls, and the touch of blue in the glass areas. You did well to keep the sky to a minimum but keep some detail in the hazy top of the picture.

όμορφο και μοντέρνο το κομμάτι του μουσείου Guggenheim του Bilbao που μας παρουσιάζεις με το μόνο αδύνατο κομμάτι να είναι στο επάνω κομμάτι της φωτογραφίας που είναι 'καμμένο'.
Η παρουσίαση της εξωτερικής σύνθεσης-γλυπτού διακοσμεί υπέροχα την είσοδό του.

Inspite of a strong backlight, you show a fabulous corner in the know3n Museum.
Fine view on the main subject, the statue with similar metal-balls, maybe a crop on the high upper side on photo, colud be more contributing - but it's only my view.

I have been here...... yes.... went to Bilbao just to see this building. Unfortunately I only had a small film camera and I do not have any good photos.
Your two photos are quite nice.
I had another look at your profile.... you may be a new member but you take it very seriously......I like that..... it works for me ( except on the golf course )
you live in Southern California and you have been to North Dakota ... that is unusual
Life is full of unusual experiences and weird moments.... just embrace them

Hi Eleni,

What an amazing museum - a few years ago my husband [Gus72] & I had the pleasure of visiting Bilbao & the famous Guggenheim Museum - A wonderful construction - we loved our [INTERESTING] visit there - especially eating the delicious Tapas....ha!
Frank Gehry has designed The new build of The University of Technology here in Sydney Australia which is under construction as we speak.
