Photographer's Note

The Urkiola Sanctuary is located on the mountain range of the same name, at one end of the Abadiño municipal district, in Bizkaia.
It stands in the very centre of the Basque Country and it is located in an extraordinarily beautiful setting.
Built 750 metres above sea level, it is surrounded by majestic limestone mountains, which include Mounts Amboto, Larrano, Aluitz, Haitz-txiki, Unzilahaitz, Mugarra, Eskubaratz and Saibi.
It is set in a backdrop of pastureland and woodland, where birches, beeches, oaks, ashes and pine trees grow.
The original patron saint was San Antonio Abad, the patron saint of the countryside and animals.
Tradition has it that San Antonio de Padua came to Urkiola on one of his journeys. He spent the night in its Hospital and said mass in the Chapel of San Anton.
The Sanctuary has been dedicated to both saints since the 13th century.

un bel campo fiorito, ma con gli alberi piottosto secchi.
L'architettura della chiesa sembra interessante, ma andrebbe approfondita di più, vista così rimane solo una bella foto, che non è poco.

Seeming like in autumn or spring, but I notice taken in August. Another tasteful South European image indeed. So fresh green colors makes this image so attractive and fashinating. Panfocus usage is quite effective in this situation. Thanks a lot and have a good start of new week!

Kalispera Ouranis,
The grey-white cloud hanging in the BG, had much effect on the image: you might, to my humble judgement, post this in B&W, that would had balanced the WB.
Divided well on picture space, you gave a nice portion to the green grass with yellow dandelion flowers in FG.
Also the bell and tower are an eyes catching element.

Μαρία γεια σου,
όμορφο το σκηνικό με την εκκλησια αν δεσπόζει της φωτογραφίας.Ο μουντός ουρανός δεν εμποδίζειτο προσκήνιο να είναι φωτινό και ευχάριστο να βλέπει κανείς αυτό το 'πράσινο' χαλί να σκεπάζει το έδαφος.

A peaceful looking sight, but I can understand that the lighting is not on your side here. I find the composition and perspective are so inspiring and effective enough taken from excellent viewpoint as I am really drawn initially to fg specks of yellow as strong lead in to the imposing structure. This is a great shot, well colored, nice clarity and superb contrast. Keen eyed as ever, well spotted and taken! Congrats and TFS

It was by chance I could see this picture was taken in Abadino. I passed there by buss when I was going to Durango. I could see a pleasant countryside and the wishing to return later. I stayed in an hostal and find not any hotel in Durango. But it was a long ago and something surely has changed. Abadino fields are so vast anyway. By the mountain Iwas afraid with the buss driver driving madly by the mountain curves. All the time I was breaking too. He desrved a claim but nobody did it. The buss could fall at great altitute. I like this chapel having the tower at the back. (Eleni I am hurring up beacause today have english lesson at school. It is a course so little anyway. I thought the lessons were to be continued. Perhaps some other level starts. I also want to invite you to my Facebook page. My name appears as António Domingos. I am not sure whether you are in this page or not. So you are wellcome.
