Photographer's Note

The Valdorba is the most beautiful region of the interior of Navarre. In the image it appreciates a rich detail of roadway and the church of the Asunción situated in the town of Sansoŕin.
Placed between populous cities like Pamplona, Olite and Tafalla and furrowed by highways of the first order, it surprises to the traveler the quietude and wildness of his peoples and the bucolic of his vales and hills. In Valdorba there survive interesting samples of the Romanesque rural one, some of which suppose real surprises. Possibly the reason of this patrimony should to the fact that a secondary route of the Aragonese Milky Way was furrowing these territories during the Middle age.
Some of these churches show the common denominator of having (or, at least, a cimborrio has been projected) with semispherical vault in firstly stretches of the ship, contiguous to the chamber absidal, for having no stretches presbiterial. One usually associates this composition as direct influence of the new church of the castle of Loarre.
