Photographer’s Note
One of the two big artillery guns at Castillitos, installed between 1932 and 1936. 38.1cm caliber manufactured by the British company Vickers, range of 30,000m and firing armour piercing shells with a weight of 885kg.
Underground there is an 8hp diesel generator that provided electrical power for the fire control system.
Hydraulic energy for the operation of the gun was povided by two diesels of 25hp and 125hp.
