Photographer’s Note
The coastal artillery battery of Castillitos was built between 1929 and 1936.
It's impressive by it's construction as well as the surroundings in which it's set. The construction are not simple concrete bunkers, but looks like a medieval castle and was made of local stone. From the point where the battery is built there is good visibility of the coast between Escombreras and Cabo de Gata. The battery consists of two big 38,1cm artillery guns.
To support these big guns the battery has three underground floors, excavated in the cape mountain, to lodge their machinery.
The objective of this and several other gun batteries along the coast was the defense of this coast to avoid that a potential enemy could get in reach of the naval installations of the harbor of Cartagena.

Hi Han,
what an amazing, high panorama. I think the use of BW is fantastic to bring out texture on the brickwork & light.
The sky adds great interest also-i guess you used a circular polarizer?
Thanks for the vista!
