Photographer’s Note
Took this shot on the "Liberty Boat" heading back to the USS Theodore Roosevelt. We were anchored off the seaport of Cartegena, Spain for a little R&R. Great time! Excellent wine and Paella! Beautiful country!

Hey, that used to be me in that small boats... When the 6th fleet was still coming to Israel, every time a carrier came it was a real festival - all the yachties went to circle and admire the giant... Those days are long gone... fantastic capture John - I (naturally) like the theme and angle.

Interesting parallel between the contrasted scales. Very good DOF even if the light conditions weren't so good. Great work!

Yes the paella is yummy yummy, and the wine...
Well ok, getting back to the picture I really like the opposition of huge killing machine carrier and not very large boat.
I do not like the colour of the sky, but well the wheather was simply not the one to be expected in spain.
Great photo!

You flashing me back to my Navy days aboard USS America CV66. PHCS America photo lab. Looks like we are going backwards, Liberty boats didn't have sails when I was in. Retired at Perl Harbor Dec. 6th, 1989.

A kind of unusual situation! I like the framing and the composition. Thanks for sharing.

A very original shot, John.
Well captured and framed. Perfect title.
The ferry alongside the aircraft carrier also gives us a good sense of scale.
