Photographer’s Note

Steam locomotive is a machine that by means of the combustion of an element (coal or fuel oil - oil) in an external boiler, warms water and the resultant steam of the boiling generates pressure and moves pistons that stimulate the wheels by means of a game of connecting-rods (for this reason they are called engines of external combustion). They are in disuse for time.
The new building of the station of Cartagena (1909) Was projected by the engineer Rafael Peyroncely. It is a great building that, in his origins, was very isolated of the urban center, forcing the majority of the travelers to move even there in carriages.
This locomotive of steam is exposed opposite to the station of the Cartagena.
