I love places with a lively street life so Madrid is a heaven for me - interesting characters and interactions around every corner.

Excellent portrait with good facial expression with high detail, especially in his hair. Like the way how you placed him in the frame with a perfect bokeh to the back. I like the brown in the right top corner, that colour tone gives perfect contrast to the skintones.
Have a nice weekend, Henk

Quite a jump from yesterday´s photo Kev. As the close up of the old woman (I think three photos ago) I love the way it is composed, with the background so abstract giving more relevance to the subject. You are right about Madrid, the lively streets, and far from artistics elements, probably this is the biggest treasure of the city.
For me It´s also funny because this face reminds me to some portraits of kings (Charles the second, for instance) so it´s kind of old time person but in a modern way, maybe he´s a king of modernity, who knows!
Take care and keep posting.

I think that this guy can be considered the spanish Dennis Rodman. Nice expression and very well framed. Wonderful details contrasting with the great bokeh in the background.

Yes, very good shot. I enjoy this portrait very well composed. Excellent DOF.

Really dig this depth of field Kev, its turned it into a snap of an interesting character to one that places him in his own little world with every bit of attention placed on him, just the way he would most likely want it.

I can hardly contain myself looking at your recent postings Kev, such gems, one after the other, while I cannot get to TE to comment on all. They ALL deserve high praise, for their delicacy, sensitive exposure and treatment, and of course VISION... this one in particular made me beam with a huge smile. A perfect catch, indeed a cool guy, no doubt, fantastic work, with that beautiful shallow dof that pulls him so close to us. Love that pouting expression barely visible under the huge stylish sunglasses! :-)
Bravo dear friend. My hat is off to you, continuously!

Very good portrait of an original guy, like from a film of Almodovar.
Good DOF with magical, blurry background.
I like it.
Best regards. Grazyna.

A very good portrait showing the modern nuances of Madrid (the pierced ears with the earrings, the dyed hair and the designer sunglasses). You have enough space on the top and on the left to make this a magazine cover. Well done!

Hi Kev, I have to agree with Sasa that this mini-series from Madrid is excellent (much overused word though it be on TE). You've captured the essence of the people in each image. And the 5D has delivered beautifully too. If I'm being particularly critical, I would like to see seen a shade more DoF here to make the subject a little sharper but have to admit the quality of the bokeh is very good. One or two tiny dustspots too but hey. . . I hazard a guess and say this was taken in the Chueca quarter of the city, no? Best wishes Stephen

Great tones once again (they remind me of your prtrait of this chinese man somehow). Interesting looking character too! It's quite hypnotic.

A great portrait of this guy, Kev! What most I like about this portrait is the expression, which is not intuitive at all...what passed his mind when the shutter opened and closed back? This is the beauty of this one - we can't see...we barely can notice his eyes, but then, we don't...so what was on his mind?
The exquisite lock of his lips, and by god those are big lips (!), don't shed any light on the subject either...
Good bokeh too!

Wow, really great capture. He's really working hard trying to look cool, and I guess he succeeds. Was he posing for you?
An interessting effect is that the part of background that's closest to him has the same color/tone as he, but further away the colors are warmer. I guess his coolness could only reach so far.. :)
