Photographer's Note

Plaza Espania (Spain Square) is the main square of the city. Unlike other major squares does not occupy a central place in the planning of Santiago Domingo. The square was created with the construction of the walls of the XIV century. It was for centuries the site of the market and the bullring.
Today it is a place of Town Hall; the building of the township of Rioja province built in 1763, whose bottom was the Royal Prison and the building of the Corn Exchange, ancient place of selling and storing grain in it are currently the municipal offices.

This photo was shot 206 km (129 miles) from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port and 558 km (349 miles) before Santiago de Compostela.
