El ciclón extratropical que azotó Galicia
en la en el pasado mes de enero, pulverizó los
registros históricos de temporales en la
comunidad. La ráfaga máxima de este fenómeno,
cuya denominación técnica es ciclogénesis
explosiva, fue de 198 kilómetros por hora,
a mucha distancia de los 158 del Hortensia
en 1984. Klaus, como lo bautizó el servicio
de meteorología alemán, es el temporal más
virulento que ha vivido Galicia desde que
existen datos.

The extratropical cyclone that hit Galicia
in the past month of January, shattered the
historical records of storms across the
community. The maximum gust of this phenomenon,
whose technical name is cyclogenesis

Hi Charo,

I as surprised to learn from you, hurricanes moved eastward to Spain. Here in America we are use to them travelling westward especially our southern states.

Your image captures the dark, moody atmosphere of the approaching storm.

Quelle vue sur ces vague, ce couleurs ce tontraste entr elb rillant de la mer et la terre, la petit maison, ce nuage en fond, avec de la burme des rayons filtrants, fantastique.

As imagens estão esplêndidas. Ao mesmo tempo que um ciclone é um pesadelo para as pessoas que o vivenciam e sofrem os prejuízos, a força da natureza tem uma beleza assustadora. As imagens estão ótimas, com muito boa luz e nitidez.

Bonjour Charo,
Ces superbes images, avec les ws, ne laisse pas deviner la dangerosité du phénomène. L'esposition est très bonne, permettant de voir le lumineux ciel et le premier plan assombri. Bravo.

Hi Charo,
I didn't realise that you get hurricanes in Spain. This is a beautiful, if frightening photo, given the wind speeds - I guess it is just in the build up.
There is great light showing down through the clouds. Was it taken through a window (the bit near the red roofed building suggests it) or was it a little rain coming onto your lens?

this does look scary, the dramatic light fits perfectly the electrified scene. the sense of motion in the water creates a feeling that the hurricane has whipped up the sea, same as the sky, you almost expect the mixture of these two elements forming in a moment. great timing, great shot.

Hola Charo,

I'm a seascape lover and I find this one very evocative and well composed. the dark shoreline frame very well the rough sea and the clouds in the sky are really dramatic. I love the soft evening atmosphere even if a cyclone is arriving!
I've always wanted to see La Coruna, because it's an important port of call for the sailing boats which go from north Europe to Gibraltar.
