Carnota es un municipio costero situado en la zona suroeste de la provincia de La Coruña (Galicia, España), perteneciente a la comarca de Muros. Su nombre podría proceder de la voz precéltica 'Carn' (piedra).

Carnota tiene fama por su majestuoso hórreo, el mayor de España, con casi 35 m de longitud, y por lo tanto del mundo, ya que estas construcciones son originarias y únicas del noroeste de la península ibérica. Este importante monumento forma parte de un conjunto arquitectónico compuesto por el hórreo, la casa rectoral y la iglesia. Su autor, el arquitecto Gregorio Quintela, transformó en objeto de belleza una construcción de tipo funcional, como es un hórreo. El edificio data de 1768 y tiene aire barroco. Le ayudan a dar vistosidad al conjunto las hileras paralelas de los vientos, o las bien labradas capas y pies sobre los que se sustenta. Ha sido declarado Monumento Nacional. Compite el longitud con otro hórreo cercano, el de Lira, que parece ser que es unos centímetros mayor.
La cercana iglesia de Santa Columba es también un edificio barroco, de planta de cruz latina, con dos naves laterales. Su elevada torre fue un añadido más tardío. Esta iglesia sustituyó a una románica anterior, de reducidas dimensiones.

Arquitectura y utilidad del hórreo:
Como regla general, puede afirmarse que no hay vivienda campesina gallega sin su tradicional hórreo. Se trata de un pequeño edificio exento, elevado sobre pilotes como los antiguos palafitos: cumple la función de granero y almacén de frutos y es un complemento de la vivienda rural popular. Por su solución funcional, carácter. gracia y armonía constituye un elemento de gran interés arquitectónico y pintoresco.

El hórreo gallego tiene casi siempre forma de paralelepípedo rectángulo (de 5 x 1,50 m y 2 m de altura. aproximadamente); descansa sobre pilotes o fustes, llamados pes dereitos, de unos 2 m de altura, con losas a manera de capiteles, generalmente de planta redonda, denominadas rateiras o torna-ratos; estas losas tienen, a veces, forma de seta, con su parte interior plana o algo cóncava, para evitar que puedan trepar los roedores.

Ciao Charo,
L'"Horreo" è un particolare tipo di costruzione che non avevo mai visto prima d'ora, architettonicamente molto interessante. Il POV da te scelto è perfetto per mostrarcelo, partendo dalla destra della foto.
Ottimo il contrasto col bel cielo blu.

This is one of the best ways to show the optical distortion but to a good effect by composing the horreo.

I accept this one as the best of the 3 presentations.

Very good technical quality in the diagonal shot and very well proportioned.

Strong color saturation and contrast to make it appealing.

No te creas que me he olvidado de ti. Lo que passa es que apenas entro y hoy que lo he hecho me he encontrado con la modificación del portal, se habia perdido mi contraseña, y bla, bla.
Hablemos de la foto, preciosa como no, con una buena perspectiva por que has escogido un punto de vista ideal. Muy interesante e ilustrativa la explicción del lugar para los que no hemos estado nunca.

Curioso, pensava que os espigueiros eram de origem minhota. Mas como o Minho se continua pela Galícia é pois de admitir a existência dos espigueiros em ambos os lados da fronteira. É como o Vinho Alvarinho, apesar de o melhor ser o do lado sul do Rio Minho, na região de Melgaço!!!

Bonjour Charo,
J'ai souvent vu en france ce procédé de stockage à l'abri des rongeurs, mais d'architecture fonctionnelle, sans style ni matériaux nobles. Celui-ci est superbe, un eoeuvre d'art utile et belle. La photo est belle et descriptive, ainsi que les ws. Félicitations.

Bonjour, Charo. Une construction étonnante. Elle est toute en longueur et crée une perspective intéressante dans l'image. La croix se détache bien sur le ciel, tout comme la tour de l'église. Le toit rouge sur la gauche apporte un joli contraste dans l'image.

Hola amiga Charo,
un encuadre perfecto. La perspectiva de este larguísimo hórreo, que lleva nuestra mirada hasta el campanario barroco del fondo, da una gran profundidad a la imagen, en una composición en la que la luz, las sombras y los bellos colores dan una gran calidad a la foto.

Hola Charo, nunca hubiera imaginado que un Hórreo pudiera ser tan largo, realmente me ha sorprendido.

A veces nos centramos en la calidad y la técnica de la foto para criticarla, pero este es un claro ejemplo del otro gran valor de la fotografía y TE, que es sorprender al público, al margen de la técnica y la calidad, que en este caso, además la hay.

Nunca consigui sacar una foto interessante de un horreo. Muchas veces no se destacan tanto como aqui. Ademas la profundidad est impressionante. Se nota los molinos al fondo.
