Photographer’s Note

That day, the sky was grey over the islands. Then, for a couple of minutes, a single red cloud and a red reflection above the islands, changed the landscape. This photo was taken one minute before this other one.

The two islands in the background are part of the Cíes Islands. They're the Middle or Lighthouse Island and the Northern Island (the South Island, not shown, is to the left). These two are joined by a stripe of white sand and a natural lagoon. They have been called "the gods' islands" since ancient times, and not without reason: they're a paradise (even though the ocean is incredibly cold there).
The photo was processed at Camera Raw and Photoshop for contrast (levels and curves), cropping (the sky) and a warming filter. I know it's dark, and I like it that way; the impression when you looked at the islands was a bit gloomy (while the rest of the landscape was brightly tinted with the sunset).

Ese reflejo rosado en el cielo, en medio de tanta nube amenazadora, y esa gaviota minúscula volando..., y esas islas aplastadas por el peso de la borrasca....

Bella foto, Impresionate cielo con colores naturales y interesantes. Muy bien cuadrada. Me gusta mas la foto original. La version del WS tiene demasiado contraste... a mi parecer :)

Well, the first photo has more interesting THINGS in it, but this creates a more interesting MOOD, if that makes any sense. I would have skipped over it if not for the red spot, which made me pause and take a closer look. It is definitely a picture for those of subtle spirit!

I was not so sure with the workshop as it burns out quite a few places, however I would have liked a bit more sea as I find myself searching for that extra bit.
What I do find brilliant is the subtle red glow with the grey sky, absolutely enchanting.

Me gusta el cielo, tan gris pero tan luminoso y con ese toque rosáceo que también se refleja sobre las Cies. Y su gran protagonismo y como has dejado que la isla y el mar queden ahí pequeños y como aplastados por esa masa gris.
