Photographer’s Note
This isn't an ordinary lighthouse, but one with a famous father. It's the lighthouse of the Museum of the Sea, designed by Aldo Rossi and finished by César Portela after the famous architect's death; it's his only project in Spain. The museum is located in the old slaughterhouse (matadero) of the city. Some of its buildings have been erected on terrain gained to the sea, thus the need to build a lighthouse too.
I love its simple, straight, sober lines and its rusty body.
I stitched two photos using Panorama Maker. Then, I edited curves, saturation and contrast. I also cloned out a graffiti on the base of the lighthouse.
Added a B&W version as WS as suggested by Simon (Sadeik).
I hope you like it. Thanks for watching and for your comments!

Great shot but I suspect that if you had the lighthouse further left it would have worked even better as the space on the left as it is is a bit empty.
I also wonder it black and white might be quite nice here?
An excellant shot apart for the bit I just said which I might say is only how I precieve your photograph, guess others will argue with me and of course probably be right
Simon
Just noticed who's photo it was! Hello
I had another thought too, prehaps a squarer version to cut out the left hand empty bit might do the job too

Hi, Ines -
I disagree with Simon; I think it works well enough in the original almost monochromatic form. It creates a definite mood of twilight which got lost in the B&W conversion. And while the lighthouse is more centered than it should be, the rock in the left foreground offsets it somewhat. Certainly the vertical distribution (spacing of the horizontal lines) is fine.

Dan

Hello Ines,

I think I prefer your colour version but both are really nice compositions. Excellent placement of the lighthouse and the BG mountains. I disagree with Simon as you have that little island with the birds on the left and a seagull flying above which counterbalance the lighthouse nicely.
Well done Ines.

I agree with Dan. The rock in the left foreground plays an essential role in the composition.

Hello Ines,
beautiful shot well composed with the lighthouse well placed. The rock in the fg is another focal point to lead the eye through the compo until it reach the main chapter of your pic. You have also brought a very peaceful and relaxed atmosphere thanks to the almost monochromatic colour. Quality is very good throughout.
Thanks for sharing this and regards
Igor

hola,
pura estetica zen!
Javier
