Photographer’s Note

RE-POST: I've never been happy with the quality of this photo (see below); now it isn't perfect, but at least it's better. I re-processed the raw file with SilkPix (which seems to do a better job with noise) and edited with PS CS3 for noise (again), curves, desaturating reds and sharpening.

This autumn is being warmer than usual, and in fact the month of October has been better than July in my region. Yesterday, with 25ºC, the beaches were full of people swimming, sunbathing and practising water sports. Even though morning and night are cold, I can't recall such warm days in autumn.
In the evening, there was a thick wall of fog in the sea, which suddenly came onto the coast (so thick it really made you wet) and, in a few minutes, went back to the sea again. It didn't discourage these guys who were practising water-ski taking advantage of the windless day. I suspect the skier wasn't very skilled, as he fell down everytime the boat turned.
In the foreground, the Cíes Islands and a ship in the middle of the fog.
The quality of the image isn't as good as I'd like to, as I was shooting inadvertently at ISO 800, but I hope it's still good enough for TE. PP consisted of an overlay layer, noise reduction and sharpness.
I've posted another, more dymamic view of the skier as a WS.

Lo que mas me gusta de la foto es ese primer plano de mar con la embarcación, las pequeñas siluetas y la línea que van dejando en el agua. En cuanto al cielo, a pesar de que la naturaleza nos los presente así en ocasiones, siempre me dan una impresión de falsos que me acaba no gustando. Yo misma hice el otro día unas fotos de cielos con colores increibles y cuando las veo me parecen de mentira. Quizás algún día me atreva a poner una en TE. ¡Quien sabe!.

Analizando las imágenes creo que has hecho un buen trabajo. Se nota sobre todo en la reducción del ruido de color en las nubes, y con esto basta. Un poco de exceso en retoque y se estropea la magia de la imagen. Yo ya llevo tiempo usando el RAW y utilizo el Silkypix para "revelar" las imágenes con unos resultados magníficos. Para terminar decirte que hay algo peor que disparar una foto con una ISO inapropiada: salir de "caza" con la cámara sin tarjeta (adivina a quién le pasó eso esta mañana).

Esta versão está mais bonita, de facto, principalmente o céu. Continua a magia da ilha "suspensa" entre o céu e o mar.

Hola Inés,
es una imagen muy sugerente y atractiva. Por su luz y sus tonos relajantes y suaves. Por el dinamismo del esquiador y la lancha. Y por el bonito efecto de las islas "flotando" a causa de la neblina.
Evidentemente la ISO alta te regala ruido, prueba a descargarte este programa http://www.neatimage.com/download.html, yo lo uso para eliminar el ruido y funciona. Otra cosa es tratar los archivos en formato RAW con el software de tu cámara, yo uso el de Fuji o el de Olympus y los dos funcionan bien, pero al final acabo rematando la faena con PS CS2.
