Hello friends and colleagues, today I present the chapel of the castle of Baiona, an interesting place to visit with magnificent views of the river and the town of Baiona, I hope you like it, then some letters on this interesting castle.
The Castle of Baiona is a twelfth century fortress, which was completed in the sixteenth century, located in the town of Baiona Pontevedra. Also known as Fortaleza del Monte Boi.
Since 1966 has a Parador Nacional Conde de Gondomar. It has a great historical importance, since in March 1493 Martin Alonso Pinzon returned to the coast of Bayonne after his trip to America, making this villa the first in Europe that he heard the news of the discovery of the New World.
Mount Royal was a strategic point that was formed over the centuries defending the maritime territory of the Rias Baixas. Transforming the fortress town to the Catholic Monarchs granted that populates the respective Charter, that enabled two hundred families to settle within the walls, enjoying the same privileges as residents of Bayonne was due. Its period of greatest splendor happened in the fifteenth century-XVI, becoming a prosperous trading center, thanks to the privilege that John II of Castile granted to A Coruña Baiona and being the only Galician ports that could trade with foreign countries. The present appearance of the castle comes from the reconstruction carried out in the sixteenth century by Diego Sarmiento de Acuña, Count of Gondomar, who renamed it Monterreal Castle, in honor of the Catholic Monarchs. Within its walls there were events of great historical significance. In its structure, we can distinguish two periods, the medieval and the Renaissance, although the sun and had a fort or castellum in S. II BC In 60 BC, when Julius Caesar conquered Baiona, had to pursue the rebels to their shelters in the Cies Islands. Romans, Visigoths and Muslims left their mark on the castle. In 1331 the fort was attacked by the Portuguese fleet admiral Peñaza, Fernando I of Portugal fixing his residence in the castle. Also withstood attacks of the pirates Francis Drake, and saw the arrival on March 1, 1493 of the caravel La Pinta. In 1474, Pedro Madruga, after attacking Baiona, built a tower Monte Boi, of which traces still remain.

I like very much this picture, not only for its accurate and delightful description of this place but also for its fine, graphical layout of colours. Studying the building and its surrounding area is very enjoyable and excellent clarity makes our impression even more vivid and agreeable. You made the strong light work absolutely in your favour. I also like the mysterious dark terrace and the overall calm atmosphere. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,

This is an excellent view this unusual little church. It's design looks like it could almost be some lucky persons home. The setting is superb and you captud the essence of the location really well, the steps leading up are very inviting and there is vivid green life everywhere. All in a perfect contrast to the beautiful blue sky. Really nicely composed image, thanks as always for sharing.

This is a very well composed shot with the steps leading the eye into the scene and the trees providing framing. The angle of the shot works well adding direction to the scene. The lighting and colors are great and the photo has fine sharpness and detail.

I like the upward pov and repetition of the stairs and the spherical, manicured topiary trees. Good sharpness and a wonderful blue sky backdrop. Excellent density levels and punchy light contrasts. Have a great weekend!

This is so green for such a hot country!
I like how you have joined together the verdant garden and the pretty chapel, via the stepped pathway. A delightful piece of composition in a well exposed shot.
My warm regards,

Ha... La bella Galicia... Ay veo el verde y el gris del granito. Además, la composición está muy bien echa, usando los arbustos, arboles y la escalera para encuadrar la casa.
