Hello friends and colleagues , today I offer this picture of a street with medieval architecture characteristic of the coastal town of Baiona , I hope you like it , then some letters on the villa.
Bayonne ( Baiona in Galicia and officially ) is a municipality located in the southern part of Metro Vigo ( Pontevedra ) , in northwestern Spain . Bordered on the north by the Atlantic Ocean and the town of Nigrán , south with Oya , the east with those of Gondomar and Tomino and west by the Atlantic Ocean and the town of Oya . Belongs to the region of Vigo.
It is Monterreal Castle , currently function Parador Nacional . It has a great historical importance , since in March 1493 Martín Alonso Pinzón reached the coast of Bayonne after his trip to America making this villa in Europe first heard the news of the discovery of the New World. So the first weekend of March is in the historical district of Bayonne a medieval festival called The Arribada .
On March 1, 1977 , there was the official twinning of this town with the town of Palos de la Frontera ( birthplace of the Discovery of America) , place of departure the discoverers caravels on August 3, 1492 . In memory of the arrival of the caravel La Pinta , the Royal Society Palósfila Pinzoniana donated the statue of Martin Alonso Pinzon, sculptor León Ortega version of that stands in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento de Palos, a witness of brotherhood between the two cities .
In the year 60 of the Christian era, a great leader , Julius Caesar, was in Bayona to direct a fleet that was intended to subdue the herminios Cies Islands . In 997 also suffered the onslaught of the troops of Almanzor , Galicia came into these lands . Years later the Turkish corsairs were the invaders , destroying their village in a rush , so Alfonso IX of Castile in 1190 laid the foundations of the new city , granting various privileges . In 1452 it was already so great the importance of Baiona, John II granted the Royal Jurisdictions .

What a nice shot of this narrow street. Splendid architectural details where the cloister really is a nice addition. A nice composition and a well exposed picture with good DOF. Lovely work! Thanks.

An interesting perspective on this deserted street. The columns do get out attention and the surrounding architecture has good details. I like the texture of the stones.

Ottima prospettiva e interessanti facciate.

I love that these interesting buildings are supported by columns like this, it creates such a great interest at street level which can be rare. Almost a secret corridor on the street. And up above, the buildings look brilliant, full of texture and interesting features and rich colors. A perfect view on this place too, with wonderful depth and a really fine sky. Very nicely done, thanks as always for sharing.

very good job done with choosing the POV for this picture. It helps to create nice depth and gets the columns at the very right angle. The two metal balls in the corner are quite eye catching element as well as the stylish lantern.
Very pretty and natural colors, perfect sharpness and well given contrast.
Thanks for sharing

I like very much how balanced and elegant this composition looks as you have employed the elements that define the scenery, the colours and the perspectives in an excellent way. We get a great idea of this nice town place; depth and clarity are superb. Apart from that, even beyond the physical description, the picture is a delight to look at for its beautiful light and bright contrasting colours.
Very well done.
Wish you a very nice rest of the week.

Inspite of the difficult light condition, Angel, you show superbly the small alley with a great pillars arcade.
Unique in style, interesting to learn about, and marvelousely taken from the chosen POV.

Ciao e buona serata

I like very much the depth and definition of this photo. We can study the old, picturesque buildings thoroughly and get a good idea about the style of this interesting town. I like very much the well balanced arrangement in the vertical frame, the whole view is attractive but there are also a lot of interesting architectural and decorative details to catch our attention. You managed the moody light and colours very aptly. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,

A town with a very turbulent history, yet the beauty of the old buildings cannot be denied. The narrow street, the pitted stone buildings and the colonnade, all indicate an ancient past. I love this type of place and you have recorded it with great clarity.
The lead is very effective and, at the end, we have another interesting building with an amazingly decorated façade.
My warm regards,

Despite the lack of any human element, these old world streets hold an abundance of charm and a welcoming invite...especially for those of us with camera in hand! :) A quiet village street, filled with vivid texture and detail to compliment a pleasing composition. I particularly like the few splashes of color from the windows/shutters to contrast against the predominant muted tones. Very well arranged and presented to showcase that charm! Enjoy the weekend. Take good care.

I always taking shots of old streets and alleys. The old architecture that you show here is full of character. The coloured window frames brighten up the old stonework and I like the positioning of the lamp and those green spheres in the FG.
Very well done and TFS.
Kind Regards, Ann

this is another one of your very attractive yet rustic looking streets in Spain.

With narrow street and type of architecture I can tell that this is an old neighborhood. Nicely captured with good lighting and sharp details. Well done, tfs.
