One believes that this city was ancient Flavia Lambris of the Romans, but there do not exist documents that testify it clearly, although Roman city yes was in this enclave since there have been traces of that people and a roadway that comes up to one of the doors from the wall. There exists the legend of which there was formerly in this place a city called Estabañón, which was devoured by a terrible tide.
Also it is said without very much foundation that the place name comes to him from Roman epoch because the Romans had here viveros of seafood. It is not an assertion of rigor.

The most ancient historical papers that survives are of the XIIth century, of the year 1112, when Mrs Urraca (whom his father king Alfonso VI granted the county of Galicia) granted the dominion of the market town of that time to the bishop of Mondoñedo don Nuño Afonso.

In the XIXth century, year 1891, the queen manages Maria Cristina, it granted to the town the title of city that today it preserves.

After this city is placed in the estuary of a river (the river Landro) was from his beginning a commercial port of big activity which climax happened in the XVIth century. At present it is the port of Cillero (Celeiro in Galician), which formerly was a quarter of Vivero) the one that has taken the leading role of big commercial and fishing port.

At present it is the port of Cillero (Celeiro in Galician), which formerly was a quarter of Vivero) the one that has taken the leading role of big commercial and fishing port.

Vivero is at present an alive city and with big commercial activity. In the port of Cillero there are anchored almost every day big cargo ships that transport stone of nearby quarries up to the north of Europe. It is also in the summertime a station of veraneo, condition this one that comes to him from the XIXth century and for the one that big and elegant hotels constructed themselves so much in the city itself as in the so-called quarter You Cogo, where one finds the beach.
In the Middle age it had a walled enclosure of which good part still survives as well as some of his doors. It is a stately city, with streets paved with big flagstones. It has two almost parallel streets that are the principal ones, one out of the wall and that is a highway and other one inside; towards them there are going to end in slope all the callecitas that compose the urban space; someone of them are narrow and with big medieval or nineteenth-century flavor as the street of the Wall. There is also placitas recondite, as that of Fontenova or that of four lineages, in addition to the Major big square also call of Pastor Díaz. Many of the houses are noble, of stone of granite and they show a shield in the frontage. Others are popular but with the delight of the traditional thing. There is also the whole frontage of houses with acristaladas galleries and wood identical with target, typical construction of Galician city that his maximum exponent has in Corunna.
These houses give to laugh, in the passage of the Mariña, opposite to the gardens of Noriega Varela.

Hello Charo,
The vertical composition works well here, esp. the position of the boat in the foreground. The reds are nice to have in an otherwise blue-dominant image. Good work. Regards,
Hakan

Hi Charo,
I love any image that features boats and this is a lovely one indeeed. With the blue and white dinghy making a beautiful reflection in the blue water that leads the eye toward the bigger boat, the green hills and historic village.
Regards, Tom

Hola Charo.

Desde luego, los colores son brutales. Me encantan.

Bonjour, mon amie Charo,

Josep

Hi Charo,
Well composed .... the tied boat in the foreground seems to anchor the overall scene. Lovely scene wonderfully captured in vertical format. Very good image quality and clarity. Well done! tfs

Hola Charo!

Felicitaciones.
Saludos.
