Photographer’s Note
A very thick mist had descended upon Santiago de Compostela and I had gone out early to take shots of the cathedral. City streets shrouded in mist are always interesting to photograph. It adds a further dimension to "reality" ( whatever that is). I saw this group of nuns appear from a side street and hurry off in the direction of the Praza o Obradoiro. I just had time to catch up with them and catch them as they entered the square. The blue plastic bag is very incongrous but draws the attention to the group of women dressed in black.

Hello Iain.
Great pic. The nuns against the foggy backdrop equals a great composition. Keep up the great work.

Hi Iain,
That's a great effect you've captured - I don't think I've seen fog look so tangible. The resulting muted colours are nicely captured and give the image a mournful and mysterious feel. As per your title, the focus of the blue bag is very strong.
A few of observations though: the shot looks as though it's tilting to the right by a degree or so, the figure on the left is cut in half - you should decide in or out I think and there's a lot of foreground which doesn't seem to add much - could it be cropped tighter?

I like this one - the mist does give a real feeling to the photo.
Yes a slight tilt to the right, and it could be cropped to make it even better, but a good one!
Cheers
Brian
