The town of Muros and your ride, a photo from La Coruna, Galicia

Hello friends and colleagues, today I offer this beautiful view of the Galician town of Muros, with the lovely promenade that runs along the beautiful bed, hope you like it, then some letters on the town.

Walls is a Spanish municipality belonging to the province of La Coruña and the region of Walls, in the autonomous community of Galicia. It is located at the northern end of the Ria de Muros y Noya, the northernmost of the Rias Baixas.

In the tenth century, King Sancho IV of Castile had to repopulate the area between Ponte Nafonso and Ézaro, naming the region as the village of Wall. The site corresponded to the south. The first paper of this place is 1286, In 1298 Ferdinand IV gives these people the miter Compostelana, disappearing from its shell the castle and the lion (symbol of the kings of Castile) and two shells becomes Pilgrim, which represent the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. A mid-fifteenth century, King John II of Castile allowed the port city to export and import goods.

The city gained importance over time, and was walled in 1520. Construction of 3-4 m thick and high as seven, and the population is divided into two districts very defined: the fence and brush. The main entrance was the village gate, flanked by two towers strong defense and was located near the present town hall, the wall had two doors and eighteen other crenelated towers up to 11 m high. Also in 1520 Alonso III de Fonseca built the fortress of Mount Laurel to defend against hacker attacks. In 1544 a battle took place in Walls, where the Spanish Armada, led by Admiral Álvaro de Bazán, defeated the French. At that time the local government meets in the cemetery of San Pedro. At the end of the sixteenth century, the Marquis of Cerralbo built a castle near the old fish market, which in the eighteenth century came to have 12 guns.

In March 1809, in the Spanish War of Independence, the city was destroyed by Napoleon's troops in twelve hours. In addition to the human and material damage (190 homes destroyed), burned the Municipal Archives, which caused the loss of most of the historical record. In the nineteenth century, reached the village Catalan businessmen, who created more than 30 factories Salting, especially sardines and herring. Along with the yards, which marked the professional life and appearance of the city.

In May 1970 the city was declared a Historic-Artistic, is defined as "fishing villages that preserve environmental values, characteristic and picturesque, with the severe grandeur of the monumental Gothic palaces and temples as the former collegiate church and chapel the Virgin the Way. "

Precioso efecto el del paseo , da muy buena sensación de espacio y profundidad, el cielo quizá un poco saturado, en mi monitor, pero luce muy bien a contraste con las zonas oscuras y el aporte morado, muy bueno!!

Hello Angel,
The cobblestone path and the wall follow nicely the curve of the bay. From here you give us a beautiful panoramic view of the town right in front of the dark forested hill.
The composition is excellent. The sky absolutely wonderful and I really like the inclusion of the vivid purple flowers at the right.

Hola Angel, yo sé exactamente dónde está éste pueblo histórico y maravillo de Muros in Galicia.
Hace dos años que he visitado y me he impressionado de lo bonito que es éste lugar!
Más que todo de sus edificios históricos y de sus plazas llenas de actividad de las fiestas.
Muy bonita tu foto un buen recuerdo para mi!

The cobblestone promenade brings the eyes to the town. The sky and the the light give a special effect to the composition and colors. The red roofs are interesting. Good work.

Great stone sidewalk with lovely flowers. Great place for walking , resting and watching boats in the river. I never been over there, but thanks to you, I can lern from your note a lot about history of the beautiful city.

Dear Angel,
this picture gets a lot of attention mostly beacuse of the interesting POV: the curve of the road leads the eye in subtle way further and the picturesque village finishes off the whole image. All the colors are very rich and saturated, but the purple flowers are just great.

Una estupenda perspectiva, con este paseo que desde el primer plano, nos conduce la vista a la bonita villa del fondo, al resguardo de la colina , un precioso paseo adornado de plantas y flores, ideal para pasear y con la vista de la ria junmto al mismo.
Un cielo espectacular añade su belleza a la composicion, muy buena luminosidad y colorido en este precioso trabajo.

otra potente imagen en esta foto, que nos ofrece la enorme belleza del paisaje de la ría, con una gran riqueza cromática, así como la bonita y profunda perspectiva del paseo al lado del mar, que lleva nuestra mirada hacia el precioso pueblo al fondo.
Las plantas que acompañan este paseo, sobre todo la espléndida buganvillia, son un eficaz complemento estético para un conjunto magnífico.
