Early morning view of Plasencia from NE Photo

Photographer’s Note

When I posted Charo's portrait yesterday, it came to my mind that I hadn't any posts of my short trip to the region where she was born.

I am aware that it isn't such a great photo, but it's the first panoramic view in TE of this beautiful town located in the lower part of the gorgeous Jerte Valley, which is mostly famous for the cherry blossom. I guess that I have seen this place in the less gorgeous seasons (Winter and Summer), but I would still find it beautiful even if I hadn't heard about the cherry blossom season. I think I read somewhere that the valley, which is quite narrow and about 36 km (22 mi) long, has over one million of cherry trees.

The town proper is quite welcoming and has a very interesting and well preserved historic part that kept a much medieval atmosphere.

Fantastic, what a beautiful view at early year but look like in autumn color, good contrast between argricultural land and smokes from the chimney, indeed this is a beautiful town full in peaceful feel, thanks for sharing.

Splendid autumn panorama,
this city somewhere in distance, smoke, surely from fire, river meadow and these brown trees - this does tune. Perfect light, pretty replete colours

Hi Jose! Are a lot of pictures identified with the sentiments that they create in the photographer Here I tried him to decode I believe it is emotion and separation? Beautiful the big view in the valley of cherry trees and the city with the history that you say.

Both pictures are very very different. But both are good.

Para ter uma ideia geral, não está mal. Gostaria de ver o casario um pouco mais perto. Também gostaria de ver a vegetação mais verdinha, mas isso depende da hora e do mês.

Don't you just hate it when a pretty view is spoiled by cables! Let's pretend they're not there and enjoy the golden colours of early morning, which is turning the winter trees into autumn colours. You had an excellent POV and the strong diagonals work very well in the composition.

Hola José,
Ya tenía ganas de ver alguna foto tuya de Plasencia. No se muy bien el lugar desde donde la sacaste, pero creo que cerca del hotel donde estabas. Una pena que yo no estuviera ahí, te hubiera llevado al mejor lugar para sacar una buena panorámica, un sitio que no es fácil de encontrar. Un día de estos pondré yo una desde dicho lugar, aunque a la hora que fui no era la mejor.
Me gusta mucho esa luz fría de la mañana y los colores suaves.

A pretty landscape, where the fields are leading nicely up to the town on the hilltop!
The lovely sun is blessing the place, making the houses really stand out in the morning light...

The rule of thirds is respected and the morning atmosphere is great! This February shot tells me that winter is not rude in Spain. Beautiful soft colours and long shadows in the foreground created by the morning light. Sharpness and point of view are excellent. Cheers!
