Photographer’s Note

Monastery of the Palancar. It is located in the vicinity of the Acima Pedroso (Caceres). Inside there is the monastery's smallest world, for its small size is known as "the Conventino.
Founded in 1558 by the pattern of Extremadura, San Pedro de Alcántara, not knowing that eventually would become the symbol of reform in stone Franciscan. San Pedro de Alcántara dwelt on it in terms of true austerity.
When you go to Palancar, quickly understand why the foundation called the monastery's smallest world: by not having the whole house or 30 feet long and 28 wide, but fitting into the tiny space so small chapel which said daily mass, the cloisters, cells, a simple kitchen to knead the bread that was eaten recently in a tiny refectory, kneeling and stone bowl.
If you travel there, do not find valuable works of art or architectural splendors volumes, but the peace of the grasslands that stretch from the very doors of the monastery, breathing clean air, relaxed scent that comes from the nearby mountains . The lever is a delightful place, pervaded by memories friendly mystic saint of Extremadura, where the landscape and the modesty of the building is giving us a lovely pool and an opportunity to elevate the spirit.

Hello Charo,
A fine composition of these lovely old brick arches and their verdant decorations. The detail in the brick work is beautifully rendered with good natural tones and excellent clarity.

Bonjour Charo,
Bravo.
Bonne journée
Amicalement

Hi Charo
This POV creates the illusion that the monastery is larger than it is. It is a well exposed shot and well composed. I enjoyed the write up.

Hoal Charo,

Hi Charo,
Fascinating arches and ceiling, brick structure detail and surroundings, well composed and created.
And your notes are a bonus, and the place does look idyllic and relaxing.
It reminds me of how much we Californians owe to Hispanic culture and architecture for our own structures.

Hola mi amiga Charo,
Nice view of historical portico with its splendid textures created by terracotta bricks. Your skilfully build point of view gives nice perspective and depth while pots and flowers are making your frame rich one. I liked next capture of opposite part and your wide view from hill to valley is really very nice one and offer wonderful landscape view. Congratulations. Have a nice Sunday.
