Photographer's Note
The church of Santa Maria Maggiore was a building of the XIII century tardorrománico which few traces preserved originals, was rebuilt and enlarged in the XVI century in Gothic style.
Today is an extremely valuable Gothic church with three naves and polygonal, ribbed vaulted complex.
The church of Santa Maria Maggiore in Trujillo has two steeples. One of them is called the New Tower, built in the sixteenth century and finished in the XVIII. However, the best known is the other tower, which some call "Torre Julia" because some supposed to be built on a site occupied by a Roman monument dedicated to Julius Caesar.
The bell tower was the first campaign tardorrománico the XIII century. What we see now is a reconstruction done in the following century physiognomy faithfully based on old photos and engravings of the time, unfortunately it had to be demolished early in 1871.
Anyway, so beautiful belfry underwent several structural damage during earthquakes of 1521 and 1755 and threatened to collapse on nearby homes, so they decided to remove it.
This bell is also famous for the scandal which led, in turn, the fact that one of the beds was made to place a shield license Athletic Bilbao as capital.
Besides the story and the fact that the bell is not the original, it certainly was one of the steeples most beautiful Romanesque tradition and harmonics in Spain.
Another feature of the church of Santa Maria Maggiore in Trujillo, and he shares with many other monuments Extremadura, is accused archaism is seen in architectural and sculptural details.
Such anachronisms are seen in the western and southern portals, Faecal around 1550. But aesthetics and iconography of their capitals and ornamental motifs, especially in the case of the south gate, are more typical of the twelfth or thirteenth century to the sixteenth.
Some scholars even think that it is not an archaism but the authors of these doors recycled in these sculptures of late Romanesque church when the expansion was undertaken Gothic.
---------------------------------------------------

Hello Luis,
Nicely composed shot with the sunlit street winding between old buildings up to the church, leading up our eyes to the subject of the photo.
The frame works great here, too.
Best wishes,
Jenna.

Hello Luis,
I love the textures of the walls and the tower. Beautiful soft colours of the natural stones.
The bell tower with its wonderful architecture is taken from a very good angle. Lovely view through that quiet street. The street lamp is placed perfectly on this image.

Hi Luis
I'm a big fan of these styles of scenes.
looking at it here, I could easily just walk up this little street and enjoy my day without a care in the world.
the sky looks to me it was during a harsh time of day, but overall the end result is very attractive.
lots of historic charm here
cheers

A fine shot Luis. The composition and subject matter are both strong and I love the textured stone walls contrasted with the whitewashed ones. The way you have balanced the lamp and small tower by placing them against the blue sky is excellent. Very nice job. Warm regards Rosemary

Hello Luis,
Beautiful charming and timeless street and Church.
The vertical position exmphasize extra the street
and Church and it creates a nice depth and it
makes the houses and Church higher. Also great
is the point of view: an example is the lantern
that's separated from the background...Good work.
Friendly regards,

Hello Luis, great choice of pov you made here creating a very long perspective and showing well the pituresk streest. You had a very strong light what makes difficult to get a good exposure. Personaly i would use here a polarizer or with PP i would try to get the whitebalance a bit darker to allow to see more detail. But is a question of personal taste.
I sure would like to feel the warmth of the sun that you had at the moment you took the photo.
Bets regards
KIks
