Photographer's Note
Today I am a morning person, because with this photo, I celebrate my 7th anniversary on TE.
During these seven years I have learned many things from all of you and I enjoyed your images.
But I still have my usual compositional tastes, though I think it has improved my technique, they liked some and not reach others, but I do it with enthusiasm.
In these years I have enjoyed with new friends, and have regretted the departure of some and the withdrawal of other.
But I still enjoy, with personal experiences and amazing new images.
THANK YOU ALL.!

Trujillo is one of the most interesting towns for tourists in the province of Cáceres. It lies east of the provincial capital on a granite hill overlooking the plain that surrounds it.
This ideal location as it was chosen by the Celtic tribe of vetones military for its strategic value and easily defended by the Celts for the establishment of a Celtic fort which they named "Turaca".
From Roman times is a necropolis near the Puerta de Coria. At that time Trujillo was given the name "Turgalium".
Of time is not just information Visigoths.
The Arab population down one of its main defensive garrisons (tenth century) naming it "Torgiela." It was the Berber tribe of Nafza.
The first Castilian king to attempt the conquest of the city was Alfonso VIII in 1186, got it, but years later he returned to the hands of the Almohads.
On January 25, 1232 it was conquered by King Ferdinand III, Holy, King of Castile, with the help of the military orders of Santiago, Calatrava and the Templars Truxellum naming it. According to legend the Virgin de la Victoria had a big role in making the population, becoming the patron of Trujillo.
After the reconquest of the city's population was established in the nobility by granting privileges to the Knights King participating in the recapture. Some of these lineages were Altamirano, Bejarano, Chaves, Orellana, Pizarro and Añasco.
King Alfonso X the Wise, the charter granted by King Juan II and given the title of city "Very Noble and Loyal City" in 1430.
During the fifteenth century the old walled town is too small, the fear disappears invasions and population growth requires population extend beyond the walls to keep it.
At the time of the conquest of the Americas, XVI century, Trujillo played an important role, some of the most important discoverers of the new world were born in this town and thanks to the wealth they brought back were built most of the monuments that can visit today.
Due to the large number of Trujillo who left for the New World this population is known as the "Cradle of Conquerors". Some of those who participated in the conquest of America are:
Alfonso de Monroy
Diego Garcia de Paredes. Explored and founded Trujillo in Venezuela.
Francisco de Orellana. Amazonas Explorer.
Francisco Martinez Vegaso
Francisco Pizarro. Conqueror of Peru.
Gabriel de Ávila
Gaspar de Rodas. Governor of Antioquia (Colombia)
Gonzalo de Ocampo
Gonzalo Pizarro
Hernando de Alarcón
Jerónimo de Loayza. Archbishop of Lima
Lucas Martinez Vegaso
Ñuflo Chaves. Founder of New Asunción and explorer of the Viceroyalty of the Río de la Plata.
Maria Escobar. That sowed the first seeds in Peru wheat.
The wars with Portugal, the abuses of the Mesta and Nobles and the invasion of the French troops made Trujillo went into a period of decline which is currently recovering in part thanks to tourism and trade in livestock.

----------------------

¡no puedo dejar pasar tu 7º aniversario aquí!
Pili y Josep

Hola Luis,
Many more years to come on TE, my cong.'s.
The desert beyond this 13th century town, clue about Espanea, otherwise it could resemble to places i saw in Italia, and elsewhere.
Beautiful labyrinth tight built, for giarding purposes, wall surrounded and gardens within.
Fine POV chosen, towers prominently above skyline's.
Buenas tardes,

Happy anniversary to you, Luis, and all the very best in the years ahead. This picture doesn't celebrate only your 7 years of presence on TE, but also the heart and beauty of Extremadura. Very nicely composed scene with lots of interest in the foreground and a beautiful view across the plains to the faraway mountains. Beautiful colours surround this ancient site, and the ambient light brings a pleasant atmosphere to the whole scene. Thanks also for the very informative note.

Hi Luis
Congrats on your 7th year and thanks to the brief notes on the importance of this cute town to history. A breathtaking and beautiful sweep of the low land in the background and it works fine for it sets a totally diff mood and its detail which contrast beautifully with the clean blue sky.and those towers look spectacular. Sharpness, clarity and lighting on this is quite extraordinary. A wonderful presentation, TFS.

Hello Luis,
I forgot to congratulate you on your seventh birthday here on TE.
Here you show us a wonderful picture of Trujillo that rises out high and beautifully over the vast plain. From this POV the town seems densely built and we probably find many historic buildings close to each other, apparently also enclosed by a wall of which we see a part on the foreground.
The different towers make the skyline really stunning.
Best regards, Paul
