Plaza Mayor in Guadalupe, a photo from Caceres, Extremadura

Photographer's Note

Located southeast of the province of Cáceres, on the southern slope of the Sierra de Altamira and in the foothills of the Villuercas, the area enjoys a mild climate throughout the year, which favors a variety of fruit áboles , large pine and chestnut, which form a beautiful place, especially in the summer time.

Guadalupe is a town that offers tourists cobbled streets, iron balconies and wood truss buildings, fitted together, with squares that take us back to the past, such as the Plaza Mayor which gives the main facade of the monastery.

Situada al sureste de la provincia de Cáceres, sobre la falda sur de la Sierra de Altamira y en las estribaciones de las Villuercas, la zona disfruta de un clima templado a lo largo de todo el año, lo que propicia una gran variedad de áboles frutales, grandes pinares y castañares, que configuran un hermoso paraje, sobre todo en la época veraniega.

Guadalupe es una población que ofrece al turista sus callejuelas empedradas, sus balcones de hierro y madera, sus edificios entramados, encajados entre sí, con plazuelas que nos devuelven a tiempos pasados, como la Plaza Mayor a la que da la fachada principal del monasterio.

Is this a siesta time? Frankly speaking, I'd like to be there just know, I love hot weather and a lot of sun. Thanks for this post, it gives me energy and I hope to visit Spain again.

Hi Luis, my neighbour today,
What a surprise from you. I love the charm of this corner, the atmospheric of yester years feel with its unique achitecture, and I am in particular have great interest on the 2 storey - roof tile shop houses which resemble a typical dwelling in Singapore in the 60s with the 'five-foot-way' which is so identical in design. A great contribution coz this is totally something different to what I have seen so far from Spain and a touch of Asia! Well done, My congrats.

Those tourists in the Cafe' have a good focal view over the Plaza-mayor, while sitting on the sunny-side, Luis.
Nice view are the old houses and the parasols above the stores, with the balconies overhead's.

Hello Luis, this image of yours makes me want to be there. Never been to Spain, i know it's very beautiful there. Lovely composition with the piazza or plaza. I like the colors on the buildings, so alive. Good contrast against the blue sky.

A very pleasing photo, nicely composed and with the plaza's paved surface creating a great sense of space on the lower side of the photo, against which the buildings and chairs look crowded together below the Summer sky. There's a fine combination of the charming and the elegant, and I like the inclusion of the little store in the arch on the right. Nicely done and a good note.
