Photographer's Note

This magnificent view over the roofs and towers of the monastery is made from the Parador de Guadalupe, an ideal place to stay in a old but fully modernized, in what was the former palace of the sixteenth century.

The Hotel is built on what was once the palace of the Marquis de la Romana, formerly Colegio de Infantes or grammar splendid architectural work of S. XVI communicating with the former Hospital of San Juan Bautista, building S. XV today Parador courtyards. The whole was a major center of learning in medical, surgical, grammar.

Among its highlights dependencies garden filled with native plants, flowers, trees and fountains, its Mudejar style courtyard populated by beautiful lemon and orange trees, collecting pool, living room fireplace and large rooms inside.

Esta magnífica vista de los tejados y torres del monasterio esta realizada desde el Parador de Guadalupe, un lugar ideal para alojarse en un entorno antiguo pero totalmente modernizado, en lo que fue el antiguo palacio del siglo XVI.

El Hotel se erige sobre lo que fue el Palacio del Marqués de la Romana, anteriormente Colegio de Infantes o Gramática espléndida obra arquitectónica del S. XVI que se comunica con el antiguo Hospital de San Juan Bautista, edificio del S. XV, hoy en día patios del Parador. Todo el conjunto fue un importante centro de aprendizaje de medicina, cirugía, gramática.

Entre sus dependencias destaca el jardín, auténtico vergel de plantas autóctonas, flores, árboles y fuentes, su patio de estilo mudéjar poblado de hermosos limoneros y naranjos, su recogida piscina, salón chimenea y amplias estancias en el interior.

A gorgeous view of the Monastery with teh til roofs (and their picturesque chimneys) in the FG , and the moutains in the BG .

fabulous bright day to show the roof-tops on the small town.

I counted at least adozen turrets of all types and with 6 chimneies in white in FG.
With the green mountains backdecor, the pic. is very well taken, plesent to watch.

A good picture full of interest depicting the roofscape artwork of this historic monastery complex giving a strong composition due to careful and thoughtful framing creating a beautiful image. This is a great found image with wonderful shapes of various designs, colours and textures so well preserved and maintained to be proud off, and so much more of delicacy to absorb. The great lighting and rich colour tones have further accentuated the spledour. What a great image so very well presented. Congrats

Hola Luis,

Another shot with wonderful roof-top details sharply exposed and very well saturated.
The tiny chimneys give initial f/g interest, then, like a series of well planned steps, we move from f/g to b/g, each layer a little higher and with different architectural deatils.
A delight to see.

Hola Luís, me gusta esta interesante y bonita foto de este conjunto arquitectónico muy bien surtido, como una gran tienda de todo a 100, muy buena y agradable composición con excelente nitidez, profundidad, luz y color, una interesante imagen que reune casi todo el patrimonio arquitectónico de la ciudad. Hello Luis,
That parador has excellent viewpoints to show us the architectural heritage of Guadalupe.
The red tiled roofs and the chimneys are a perfect foreground and introduction to the view of the many towers and spires of the monastery. You've even chosen a POV from where you can present them all nicely on a row.
The fields and mountains make a very nice background.
The sharpness and clarity of the picture reveal an excellent job. The whole makes me long to visit this place.
So far I never stayed in a parador. According to your description the parador de Guadalupe is very tempting.
