Photographer's Note
The Sanctuary started life in the late thirteenth century, being initially a small hermitage, poor and humble, guarded in his early years by the priest Pedro Garcia (1330), which replaced the so-called second church in the late fourteenth century. Alfonso XI, who loved to hunt in these mountains, visited Guadalupe in the year 1335, considering the dilapidated state of the original chapel and beginning the steps to proceed with the restoration.
Was appointed cardinal, Pedro Gómez Barroso as custodian, dealing with such committed from 1335-1341. At this time the Puebla founded in 1337 by order of Alfonso XI began building the Monastery (1340) seeking and obtaining for this place creating a secular priory and declared his royal patronage. The Priory secular, endowed with the prior civil dominion over Puebla, was led by four priors between the years 1341 and 1389, ending with the delivery of this shrine to the Order of St. Jerome, who remained here four centuries, until the 1835 confiscation ended this journey, becoming secular parish of the Archdiocese of Toledo, who ran diocesan priests until the arrival of the Franciscan Order in 1908, which is who governed from then until now the Monastery Sanctuary.
As the award honors outstanding distinctive "Real" by granting Alfonso XI in 1340, "Pontifical" by grant of Pius XII in 1955, "National Monument" in 1879 and "World Heritage" by UNESCO in 1993. Besides the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe holds the title of "Queen of Spain or Hispanic Day" granted by Alfonso XIII in 1928 and Patroness of Extremadura "in 1907.
This enclave has a history of Faith and Culture for more than seven centuries, manifested in its splendid library and bookstore and sacred music, in his Scriptorium or Clerk of illuminated books or "enlightened" in their workshops embroidery, jewelery, in their real hospital, pharmacy and throughout his artistic works.
The Monastery of Guadalupe is and was a monument of considerable importance: Was the main monastery of the Order Jerónima is an outstanding exponent of architecture for its diversity and variety of styles (include the Temple, Cloister Mudéjar and shrine, the latter only in the world), linked to the history of modern media and its relationship with Spain by the Catholic kings, except with the role of evangelization and conquest of America, center-class culture, research and education center (school of medicine, pharmacy , scriptorium ...), workshops of various kinds (embroidery, metalwork, illuminated), a library with an extensive background and rich pilgrimage center and hotel.
-----------------------------------------------------

Hi Luis
Looks an elegant and majestic architecture on a fine weather with pleasant arrangement in this orientation. The light works a treat with good balance of exposure and the polariser is used to get the most out of the blue sky while picking out the delicate stone carvings of the monastery. Beautiful and historic architecture dates back centuries ago displaying the skillful talents of craftsmen from the era and this presents many details which you have captured admirably. Beautiful work, Congrats.
Kind regards
