Photographer’s Note

Another view of Costa Brava near Tossa, taken from the same hill of the previous three, where stands the castle and the
lighthouse.

The image is a stitch of two horizontal shots. It wasn't easy deciding which of the many photos I took on this place deserved being the main post. I am posting two alternative views as WS's. WS#1 is the shot used to render the lower part of the main post. WS#2 is a stitch of two vertical shots taken pointing slightly to the right.

Costa Brava (literally Rough or Wild Coast) is the touristic name of the stretch of coast that starts about 20 Km North of Barcelona. While it is severally beaten by mass tourism since the 1960's, it still preserves some irresistible charm, mostly because of the amazing beauty of many stretches of the coast and the hills, thickly forested in some parts. There are also some very charming towns and settlements, Tossa de Mar being one of them.

A fine point of view, elevated and looking along the rugged shoreline!
Inclusion of the foreground works well in this composition, adding dynamics and a fine feeling of depth...

cette cote sauvage et rocheuse est de toute beauté; la couleur et la transparence de 'eau nous ferait croire a une mer propre, ce qui n'est pas vraiment le cas pour la méditerranée.

I wonder if you and I are the only ones who can never decide which is the best when picking a post. I would have been happy with WS1; it does look complete on its own, but add the top half and it's better still. I also like WS2 but maybe I would eliminate the branches as they are too small to be a feature and are more of a distraction. I think you could post that on another day.
On this one I like the shadow at the bottom. I think it adds some dynamics and helps as a frame (See the dinosaur's head? I bet your son can see it!) Also the eye is carried naturally along the rugged coastline to the top of the image.

Des trois photos proposées sur ce magnifique endroit c'est le point de vue que je préfère donnant un belle profondeur à ce paysage marin. La lumière estivale et les couleurs sont sublimes, j'aime beaucoup les contraste entre cette eau de mer qui donne envie de plonger et la falaise. C'est vraiment une belle et agréable balade que tu nous offres ici, merci José.

Hola José.
Preciosa costa con lo altos acantilados del lugar, magnifica foto, tu alto POV nos permite disfrutar de tanta belleza. Muy buenos colores sobre todo me llama la atención el color turquesa del mar que se convierte en un azul fuerte, las flores amarillas del maguey hacen un estupendo contraste. Un magnifico día para tomar fotos.

Tres bon choix de format carre qui nous permet de vraiment embrasser la courbe des falaises a cet endroit. Beaucoup de volume, j'aime bien la plante qui se dresse toute droite au dessus du vide.

tu foto nos ofrece la belleza salvaje de la Costa Brava en su estado más puro, en una toma con magnífica luz y un colorido excelente.

Que beleza de vista, José! O enquadramento baixo é muito bom e nos dá ótima sensação de profundidade. As cores são muito bonitas graças também a uma boa luz. Ainda assim, fica evidente a boa regulagem ao ver os detalhes nítidos no espaço de sombra. Incríveis os barquinhos lá em baixo! Dão ótima ideia das dimensões aqui. Bela foto!

Hello Jose,
I think that you chose the right shot for this post;the others are good but including the sky gives us a good idea of scale.
The colours are wonderful.The vegetation clings to the rock faces more than it would in parts of the U.K. but it does in some way remind me of Cornwall.
The tree in the fg points to the horizon and adds to the shot.
