Photographer’s Note

Girona located in the northeast of Catalonia is a wonderful city, rich in history, as evidenced by the many monuments of the Barri Vell, the Old City. Bounded by the medieval walls and bastions of the modern era, we found in the old city's the original buildings of Girona.
This area was the subject of a profound renovation since 1982 from the municipality, for its tourism. Barely two decades later, the Barri Vell became a major tourist attraction of Girona, with most of its restored buildings, particularly in the Jewish ghetto, the Jueu Call.
The old city of Girona is dominated by the monumental cathedral of Santa Maria, which is accessible by walking a labyrinth of shady streets and narrow cobbled streets, often accompanied by long stone stairs.

The houses of the Onyar, houses painted in bright colors along the river that runs through the city, form with the Cathedral the most emblematic image of Girona.
