Photographer's Note

Following on from yesterday is another shot from the inside of the Dali Theatre and Museum in Figueres, Spain.

The Dalí Theatre was built by reducing the old theatre of Figueres to its basic structure and then rebuilt according to Dali's specifications. So, how many architects do you know that could come up with a stairwell like this one?

The whole place has to be seen as a whole to be believed, everything in it was conceived and designed by Dali in order to offer visitors an experience of getting inside his unique world.

As Dalí himself explains: “It’s obvious that other worlds exist, that’s certain; but, as I’ve already said on many other occasions, these other worlds are inside ours, they reside in the earth and precisely at the centre of the dome of the Dalí Museum, which contains the new, unsuspected and hallucinatory world of Surrealism.”
