A picturesque tower that is crowned with eggs, is a worthy description of an extravagance, but not of the coarse and coarse one, but of a work of art. The only work of art as that they assume to the Catalan genius Salvador Dalí, who in the entrails of this tower, The Tower Galatea, in Figueras, happened his last days. Of rasping color garnet, but, especially, of rasping design, the Theater Museum Dalí, which is the building that there adheres to the Tower Galatea, of the same characteristics, enjoys the big legacy of works of art that Dalí provided them in his testament.The same artist, personally, dealt with the project that now is the museum that takes his name, in such a way that in his interiors one finds his last room and, up to, his grave, allowing him to understand that there it happened last days of his prolific life exposed to the art...
As his name indicates it, this was a theater, before his mutation to important museum constructed in the XIXth century, 1849, exactly, that in 1960, on initiative of the mayor of the city of Figueras, is thought of doing a homage to the most illustrious son of the above mentioned community, the artist in question, on having asked him as donation for one of his works for the decoration of the theater, but this one, openly, offers to offer the biggest quantity of his works for the modeling of a next museum.

Much was late, fourteen years, in the museum was inaugurated, when in 1974 the works still had not been reached, and nevertheless it devoted itself as the second one in importance of the Iberian country, after the Prado Museum of Madrid
