Photographer's Note

Calella of Palafrugell is an entity of population of the municipality of Palafrugell, region of Baix Empordà, province of Girona, in Catalonia. In 2005 it had 747 inhabitants.

Calella of Palafrugell is one of the coastal pedanías of Palafrugell placed in full Costa Brava, a picturesque locality and that there preserves the ancient delight of the peoples of the zone before the arrival of the tourism of masses. I populate of fishermen placed on a rocky coast splashed with small coves, placed along with another coastal and tourist nucleus as Llafranc. In the next End of Cap Roig one finds a botanical Garden of Cap Roig located, and in summer Festival of Cap Roig celebrates a musical festival.

Also there is known internationally his annual meeting of habaneras, which assembles thousands of persons in his beach to listen to this rhythm for diverse groups, fans and others of prestige inside the genre very popular in Catalonia, groups as Port Bo are original of Calella de Palafrugell.

In the ancient Hotel Batlle, already missing, singer Joan Manuel Serrat (my favorite), composed his song Mediterranean been inspired by certain way by the sceneries of this locality of the Costa Brava.

Hi Charo,

lovley shot with excellent soft lighting. I like the framing that the arcades make for boats. The image is a bit noisy in the shadows, but that's nit-picking.

i was there in 2006 summer, this photo reminds me that lovely place, for me it's one of the most charming genuine village of the coast of cataluna :)

O ponto de tomada dessa sua fotografia, partindo de dentrro da área da varanbda da construção, ficou muito interessante por captar todas essas formas arquitetônicas junto aos barquinhos, numa agradável e bem composta visão. Beleza mesmo.

bien aprovechado el grafismo de estos soportales y su buena perspectiva en tu encuadre. Me gusta ver las barcas en la playa y el mar a través de ellos.
Es un lugar encantador y donde tomarse un "cremat" es todo un acto de fe.

Me gusta mucho el arreglo visual que has echo com la arcada, los barcos y la vista sobre el mar, algo extrañamente calmo para un día de invierno. La luz muy suave acentúa la atmósfera de tranquilidad. Sólo la nitidez no me satisfaz totalmente.

We should call this image, "The Grand Archway to the Med." I like the many angles presented by the archways, and the lines offered from the ceiling walls. The view here must be warm and inviting, and one that is hard to leave.

Me agrada la composición de esta foto. El escenario contrastante de la arquitectura a través de los arcos, frente al color del suelo y lo que ofrece la vida rutinaria a la orilla del mar, manifiestan una vista apacible y encantadora.

The combination of three different elements in this picture is very attractive.
The austere form of the arches, the coloured light forms of the boats and the loneliness of the sea and the rocks.
