The Montjuic Communications Tower (Torre Telefónica) is a telecommunication tower in the Montjuïc neighborhood of Barcelona, Spain. Designed by Santiago Calatrava, construction on the tower began in 1989 and was completed in 1992. The white tower was built for Telefónica to transmit television coverage of the 1992 Summer Olympics Games in Barcelona. The 136 m (446 ft) tower is located in the Olympic park, and represents an athlete holding the Olympic Flame.

The basement is covered with 'trencadís', Gaudí's mosaic technique created from broken tile shards.

Because of the tower's orientation, it works also as a giant sundial, which uses the Europa square to indicate the hour.

The sky is just fantastic, with really beautiful colors! That's an interesting tower, different from any other one I remember to have seen. Great colors of the ground as well! Wonderful composition! Well done!

An image with very nice highlights and dynamism from the clouds, I'm not too fond of the left part on the ground but it was necessary to keep it to preserve clouds movement

Ma tu vai a pescare tutti i monumenti più originali e strani? (:-) Vabbè, lo confesso, sono ignorante, non sono mai stato a Barcellona e non conoscevo l'esistenza di una roba simile: Grande! (in tutti i sensi) sembra di vedere un quadro di D'alì. Con quelle nuvole poi che contrastano col pavimento rosso il quadro è proprio surrealista!
Di grande effetto.

The shape of the antenna is very special and different than the ones I have seen before. The blue sky and the red bricks are vivid. Interesting stats about the main subject.

Ciao Gio, I have little appreciation for modern art, at least this serves a useful purpose, it makes a beautiful communication tower, it's other purpose of telling the time again I suppose it is much better looking than the cheap $5 made in China watches that do the same job & work on cloudy overcast days ;-). Nice & interesting, excellent colour & contrast.

non conoscevo questa torre che vedo essere proprio bella, geniale l'idea della maridiana.
la foro è molto ben fatta, con un'ottima resa cromatica e una bella inquadratura: tanto spazio al cielo da più aria all'immagine.
