Photographer’s Note

Taken at the top of La Rambla from a shop doorway. Interestingly, another snapper took shelter next to me with a film camera. I can't help wondering what his results were.

Intersting shot and great B&W photo. I like the composition in V and all these attitudes. Each one is different. One other thing I noticed, which is very surprising, is that everyone are walking toward the same point. No one came to you. Really amazing in a big city!

That's heavy rain - something I experienced when I visited the city last year! Nice capture of the water bouncing off the street, it looks good in B&W as you get some refelctions off the wet ground.

Excellent shot Martin, looks as if you gave the start for so many people with umbrellas walking in the same direction. I doubt you did so of course.

Hi Martin,
Good photo, I think. I like how we are able to see the rain falling on the ground, even making bubbles! It is strange to see all these people seeming to walk all in the same direction, and no-one in your direction. I think I would have like the opposite though. Still, there is feeling in it. That's why I like it.

Damnit...how did I lose track of your gallery. You have some bloody great shots here. How is it that you managed all of the umbrella walkers moving away from you? Just fantastic tones to your B&W...great greys. Also, the triangle created by the people, starting with your closest subject, is very impressive. Just all around a great shot.

A great shot Martin, very atmospheric and bleak.
I love the numbers of people nearly all with umbrellas, a shame the one person in the middle who is braving the weather isn't more prominent but good as is.
I also like the directions which everyone appears to be heading the same way.

A rainy shot, it always fascinate me, and i keep saying that I want to go out in the rain someday and try to take pictures like this, only to find myself full of excuses when the chance is there:)
I love it, you were also pretty lucky with the way people walked, almost like in an arrow formation, letting all of them be perfectly placed in the frame.
