Photographer’s Note
Hello friends
Today are the great day of the end of the Champions League of soccer. After 14 years the FC Barcelona the team of my heart will dispute to the end of the Maxima European competition against a great team as it is the Arsenal. Throughout the history of the club we have not had much luck but all supporters we hoped that today it is a great day. The city is prepared for this event and are many the balconies and streets that are decorated with the colors of the equipment as they can see in this photo or in the WS. We have a great respect to the rival the Arsenal of London but we hoped that the victory is ours. Paris a great city, receives today to more than 21000 supporters of the Barça and more than 3000 supporters without tickets that travels to support to the equipment. I have not had luck and I will not be able to attend but the nerves continue being present. For several day the city an atmosphere of joy but of nerves has been also breathing. If the FC Barcelona proclaims champion of this competition it will prepare a great celebration to receive to the champions. If they want they can see a WS and to verify it jeopardize that this the city with the team. I again animate boys who we are to a passage of history ago. PS: The picture really does not contribute to anything but those of you who konw my great passion soccer, undestand.
Regards
FORÇA BARÇA!!!!
Sergio

Hi Sergio,
Very timely photo, and nice colours :)
And relaxed daily life feeling. Having lived in Barcelona, and Barça being the only major team I've seen playing in live, I naturally support them. I also saw the great party in 1992.
But ice-hockey world championships are of course more important for me here in the north!

Hola Sergio.
Carlos.

Another appropriate post for today (I haven't seen any Arsenal images!). The Champions League Final is the biggest club football game in the world and it's really special when your own team is involved in it. Last year, it was my team, Liverpool.
I do hope Barcelona win tonight, it's one of my favourite cities & I have a few friends who live over there.
This photo reminds me so much of the pride & passion of FCB supporters - everywhere I went in the city there were reminders. It really captures the atmopshere of the place & demonstrates just how important the club is to the citizens of the city.

Hi Sergio
Great sentiment for your team. However, as a Londoner I have to say that Arsenal will win 12-0!! Don't be too upset when this happens. I like the colourful range of flags and the scene is nicely lit.

Good luck!

Hi Sergio, I think your picture is better off without those pedestrians after reading your notes. I think you were trying to focus on the league flags, if I understand you right. Interesting repetitive view to those flags. Good luck to your team.

Hola Tu.

Hola Sergio,
I'm not so hard as Carlos, but I agree with some things pointed out by him. You could choose a better photo for this theme, but I think that you are so nervous that you couldn't manage that. As you say in the note: "The picture really does not contribute to anything...". Nevertheless, the image presented have some interest, the composition is well balanced and the management of lighting is well suceeded, but is not well supported by your note. Anyway, good luck for tonight. Força Barça!!!
Ricardo

A BIG CONGRATULATIONS!! I see that both cups go to Spain. I only managed to see the last 15 minutes as I had to go out but I saw both your goals. It seems that the red card for the Arsenal GK had a major effect on the game as an entertainment for the neutral.
Go and nurse your sore head after your celebrations.

Hi Sergio,
After reading this, I guess you're pretty happy with the result! :D
This is a nice pic in so many ways. The detail and sharpness are good, the colours are nice and the composition, with all the old architecture and the colourful flags, is great! The one thing that I feel is a little disappointing and could possibly have been avoided is the variations in exposure due to the excess sunlight in parts of the photo. I can't help but wonder what it would look like if that whole side of the street was bathed in sunlight or else if it was completely shaded. It's only a matter of timing but, in all fairness, I don't know whether you had the luxury of having time to spare to wait for better light conditions.
Nice pic all the same!
Best wishes,
Tony

I like the contrast and saturation of this image, Sergio, but I think it would have been a better composition without the people because it is the flags and the interesting architecture that are the main subjects of this photograph (I sometimes criticise similar street scenes for lack of people to give the image scale and a human feel, but this one is an exception). If it had been only the woman on the right, that would have been fine, as her jacket matches the colour of the awning (I suppose cloning the other people out would have been too big a job!) Cheers . . . David
PS: You have controlled the light very well in this. I assume you used a manual exposure because I would guess an auto exposure would have over-exposed this given the amount of shadow in the photograph.
