Colours of the Chimney, a photo from Barcelona, Catalonia

Photographer's Note

The Palau Güell is a mansion in Barcelona, designed by the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí for the Catalan industrial tycoon Eusebi Güell.

At the rooftop there are chimneys and conical vents resembling small fir trees, which served as functional and ornamental element at the same time.

In his work here, Gaudí used the "trencadis" for the first time (lining of surfaces with irregular mosaic fragments, that later was broadly used in the Modernisme -Catalan Art Nouveau.

l'architettura di Gaudi stupisce sempre per le forme architettoniche fuori dai canoni classici.
Trovo che anche i dettagli dei camini che hai fotografato sono molto belli e particolari sia per le forme e colori dei mosaici a frammenti.
Lavoro eseguito con grande maestria!

Very pleasing and somewhat unusual assortment of colours you have spotted! Good with the diagonal lines. A fine detail of these chimneys, and interesting one can clearly see the mosaic pieces.
