Photographer's Note

Casa Batlló is one of the two great buildings designed by Antoni Gaudí on Passeig de Gràcia.

After passing through the main parts of the building, a lightwell takes you up to the attic, which, though old, flows smoothly in pure white. The structural design of the arches is based on the ribs of sperm whales, and was the first self-supporting arch designed in that style. It is full of nooks and crannies of interesting shapes, some with beautiful lighting.

Hello Jayne,
I've been there last year and still would love to pay a visit a second time. The rib like structure of the walls are very well presented with your vertical format. The light management is good. I would expect a less grainy look but they add to the texture.

very good POV for attractive form, you managed very good the poor light, there is a lot of noise but i don't mind ..i like so much...very nice place too

I like the repetition of the arches with the bit of light scattered throughout the photo. Nicely composed.

una architettura da favola di questo lucernario con il pavimento costituito da "azulejos" e queste arcate asimmetriche che, come scrivi nelle note, Gaudì ha copiato dalle costole dei capodogli.
L'immagine rende benissimo perchè ben costruita ed eseguita con maestria di luci e chiaroscuri.

Les arcs se croisent gracieusement dans une superbe lumière. C'est une très belle présentation, et l'effet bruité de la photo rend celle-ci plus douce. Le plancher ajoute de la fantaisie au couloir.

Hi May,
The composition and light are fantastic, as is the texture, there is a little bit of noise (the ISO is high for the 3100 - I have had similar issues with my 3000) - but that is a minor thing here, really good shot, I have seen you grow into such a good photographer on this site.
