Photographer's Note
The Park Güell (Parc Güell in Catalan and Park Güell in his original denomination) is a public park with gardens and architectural elements placed in the top part of the city of Barcelona (Spain), in the slope that looks at the sea of the mountain of Carmelo, belonging to the spurs of the Saw of Collserola. Administratively it belongs to the quarter of The Health, in the district of Grace. Designed as urban development, it was designed by the architect Antoni Gaudí, maximum exponent of the Catalan modernism, by order of the businessman Eusebi Güell. Constructed between 1900 and 1914, it was inaugurated as public park in 1926. In 1984 the UNESCO included to the Park Güell inside the Place Patrimony of the Humanity « Works of Antoni Gaudí ».
The Park Güell is a reflex of the artistic plenitude of Gaudí: it belongs to his naturalistic stage (the first decade of the XXth century), period in which the architect perfected his personal style, across the inspiration in the organic forms of the nature, for what it put into practice the whole series of new structural solutions caused in his deep analyses of the ruled geometry. To it the Catalan artist adds a big creative freedom and an imaginative ornamental creation: departing from certain barroquismo his works they acquire big structural wealth, of forms and volumes devoid of rationalist rigidity or of any premise clásica.1 In the Park Güell all his architectural genius opened Gaudí, and it put into practice many of his innovative structural solutions that would be emblematic of his style organicista and that would culminate in the Sacred Family. The park was conceived by Güell and Gaudí as a structured set where, inside an incomparable frame of natural beauty, a few housings of high place would be located standing, with all the technological advances of the epoch to try the maximum comfort, with the finished some high quality artistic. Also, they designed a set impregnated with a strong symbolism, since there tried to synthesize in the common elements of the park many of the both political and religious ideal ones that patron and architect were sharing: this way, there are perceptible in the set concepts proceeding from the political catalanismo — especially in the staircase of access, where the Catalan Countries are represented—, and of the catholic religion — in the Monument to the Calvary, designed at first as chapel—. Also the mythological element is important: from what I hear, Güell and Gaudí were inspired by the Temple of Apollo of Delfos for his conception of the park.

Hola Ra ,
I have to visit this park one day . First , because I'm interested (not a specialist) by Gaudi's architecture . And because it seems to be a wonderful garden , with superb palm trees . Just like in the Canary Islands .
Regards
