The vane indicates us this where the north and wherefrom the wind comes. It would be fun to watch this on a windy day - seeing the smoke and vane move together. I suppose the vane has some purpose - before lighting a fire, the wind direction can be seen if it will blow back over the building.

I like that you have the background behind the transparent smoke.
