[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note [Spanish]
The Peaks of Europe are a mountainous formation nailed in the Cantabrian Mountain range in the north of Spain, although not very extensive, yes it is bountiful in geographical accidents of big interest.

This lime formation spreads over Asturias, Cantabria and Castile and León and in her they emphasize his heights, in many cases over 2.500 meters, for close that they are of the Cantabrian sea, since in his most north point scarcely 15 kilometers of the sea drift apart. Geographically the Peaks of Europe are in the line of the Cantabrian Mountain range, although they are considered to be a unit independent from this one by his most recent formation.

The Peaks of Europe are divided in three massifs. The Western one or Cornión, the Head office or of the Urrieles and the Oriental one or of Ándara.

The biggest heights are in Head office, which happens for being the most rural of the three, since fourteen of his tops overcome 2.600 meters of altitude, with the Torrecerredo, of 2.648 meters, as roof of these mountains and of the whole Iberian Peninsula up to the Pyrenees and It saws Nevada. It is not possible to speak about this Massif without mentioning to Picu Urriellu or Orange tree of Bulnes, indisputable king these mountains and of all those who mark the Hispanic geography out, since also it is the cradle of the Spanish mountaineering. There was conquered for the first time in 1905 by Pedro Pidal, Marquess of Villaviciosa and his partner of cordada Gregorio Pérez DeMaría, The Cainejo, and since then his aura of legend has not done any more that to grow.

In the Western Massif or Cornión, called this way by the form of horn that offers his silhouette on having been sighted from the west, he emphasizes exceedingly the Holy Rock, which with his 2.596 meters of altitude it overcomes in 110 the following top of this Massif, the Tower of Santa Maria or Holy Tower of Enol. For these two mountains, the Holy Rock and the Holy Tower, this Massif is also an acquaintance as that of the Holy Rocks.

The Oriental Massif, also called of Ándara for is in him the circus of the same name, is the most modest of the three, both in heights (his roof, the Top of the head of lechugales, reaches 2.444 meters of altitude) and in vertical positions.

Two Ws with other captures of this one town placed in the vale of Valdeón.

Hola Charo,

Pablo

Hello Charo,
Very pictursqye scene with the high peaks standing guard over the valley and village. This appears to be Wine Country, Yes?
I do like the one image with the longer scene of the mountains as the angle of view depicts the high ground and topography of the region much better. All the images are excellently presented...
TFS,
Steve

Hola Charo,
interesting note for three wonderful views on the mountains, each worth an own posting. That mixture of red, green, blue and grey is attracting and the diagonal line with the leaves have a special and pleasant charm.

Hola Charo,

Hello Charo,
Beautiful mountain landscape with the rugged rock ledges looming over the picturesque lush green valley and charming little vilage. Very clear colors and sharp details to this fine image.

It is so nice to look at this image and think back to summer!
I like the way you use the foliage to frame the lovely village, and the rugged mountain range make a pleasant element in the composition...
