Last Easter I had the oportunity of going back to The Royal Seat of La Granja with a couple of friends and our two dogs. Placed on the northern side of the Guadarrama Mountains, some 90 kilometres from Madrid. Its name comes from an old grange on this site formerly owned by the Hieronymite monks of El Parral, in Segovia.
King Philip V retired to La Granja in 1724, and over the following twenty years enlarged the gardens and the Palace, which was used as a Summer Residence by all his successors down to King Alfonso XIII. Recently, restoration work has been carried out on the buildings, and the collections in the State Rooms have been restored and rearranged, with the aim of recreating the atmosphere of the time of Philip V.
It is really worth taking a walk on the gardens around the palace. I had to wait for my turn to get this shot of the main facade from the top of one of the fountains. It was so crowded it was hard to get it without someone on the foreground, so I hope it was worthy and you all like it.

If you like dragons, this is a good place to visit too. Some of the fountains feature a few of them, and there's even a Dragon street on the gardens. In Dracofilia, a blog maintained by a good friend of mine, you can see a couple of the dragons there, and many more around the world.

I like the pov and the use of depth here with the beautiful architecture sitting pretty on the far ened with such wonderful colours and textures. good composition indeed.

Hi Rafael,
Symmetric viepoint fits well with this grand architecture. I like the way how diagonal lines lead us to the main entrance. Sunny weather and sidelight are optimal for this kind of view.

What a beautiful building you have captured, and there is no problem with the people in the foreground, I hardly noticed them. I can imagine it took you sometime to get that picture, as I am sure there were other people wanting to take a similar shot. Great shot, TFS.

Hola Rafael,
