Church of Vera Cruz from the Alcazar Photo

Photographer’s Note

I have already shown the little church down there [1, 2] and the place where this one was shot, the Alcázar.

One of the things that makes Segovia very attractive is the contrast between the apparent dryness of the landscape, specially in the North, West and Northeast of the city and the green forests that surround the old part. I guess that such dryness doesn't long the whole year, as the thick grass on those rolling plains should be green when there is rain.

Ola Jose,

You did a very good job framing this scene. The little church is perhaps obscured by the more impressive Alcazar. The clarity and angle of this composition makes it more appealing as you managed the use of the window frame effectively. Good work.

Estas vistas através de janelas como aqui nos mostras são sempre muito bonitas e matam dois coelhos de uma só vez! Mas no trabalho que nos propões hoje é mesmo do WS que eu gosto. A vista alargada é fantástica e a composição é excelente.

Une composition original que j'aime bien et qui donne un double paysage, l'arche de gauche encadre bien l'église. J'aime beaucoup aussi la photo du WS, pris de la cour de "l'alcàzar". Beau contraste de couleurs.

Hi jose,

An image that draw my attention from the thumbnail and open the large version it did not let me down. The framing with those arches looks wonderful and very natural. A well though composed image and the end result is excellent in light, colour and exposure....i like this a lot.

I love this José. You already know I like framed images but this double archway topped by the floral emblem makes this special. The left side arch frames the church beautifully. Your focal point must have been chosen well as it would have been so easy to have the arch out of focus. Whilst I always read your notes carefully and open the links I had somehow missed the relationship between the Alcazar and the church until now. I also like your WS and as we say so often to each other it could have been a main post too.

Esta imagem está linda! A janela ligeiramente enviesada e o subsequente contorno de luz x sombra deram uma noção de espaço fabulosa, já no primeiro plano. Em seguida, vem a paisagem com os seus elementos em posições criteriosa e artisticamente escolhidos. O resultado é fantástico!

Creo que las dos fotos son muy buenas, cualquiera pudo ser puesta como versión original. Esta tiene un plano mas cerrado pero el arco de la ventana es una excelente inclusión en tu foto, la de tu WS tiene una vista preciosa con una visión mas abierta. En conclusión las dos fotos son excelentes.

Creative way for including typical hot summer landscape through frame. The motifs on it and design style wonderful as silhouette. I liked your WS post, especially spectacular contrasts between green and desert like landscape that it can be also one another or primary post too.

Una clásica foto desde el Alcázar, yo también la tengo y también la anterior, sacada desde el mismo sitio que tu pero en diferente época, yo fui en invierno.
Excelente captura con una buena perspectiva y la iglesia de La Vera Cruz al fondo con excelente nitidez.

gostei muito de castela quando lá estive. esta foto dá bem uma vista geral da paisagem de lá. com o contraste dos dourados e o azul do céu. linda vista da velha igreja e os detalhes da janela em negro. muito bela esta foto. Quando estive nesta cidade, estava de passagem, passei uns mal bocados pois não havia local aonde deixar minha mala, ninguém queria guardá-la por algumas horas, acho que pensavam que eu era um terrorista com uma bomba. Só fui encontrar uma criatura bondosa num restaurante e lá deixei minha mala. Passei uns problemas semelhantes em outras cidades da espanha.

Ficou bem bonita esta silhueta de janela no primeiro plano com vista para os campos de vegetação bem seca fazem um bonito contraste com o céu azul , a igreja tem uma bela arquitectura , parabéns!!

Com isto tudo, acho que ainda não tinha visto bem esta! Está excelente. Gosto muito do enquadramento, especialmente pela forma como mostras a igreja ao fundo, no meio daquele campo árido. As cores estão muito boas, já para não falar da silhueta da janela que faz aqui toda a diferença.Bem pensado!
